  1. Brian,

I see things like this all the time but my photos never turn out as good as they look in my head. What am I missing? When you shoot, which do you think: this is how I want it to look? or this is what I am capturing? Do you know what I mean?

I like ther perspective and colors a lot. I wonder if you have applied a treatment to it? Like a filter in PS? Or is is very much sharpened? Either way, I would like to see crisp lines with the light that is already has. I think that would look very nice. M

  2. Anatoly,

Very nice perspective. I like the difference in lighting between the building and the sculpture. I wonder if some of the detail of (I assume it's marble) the walls could have been salvaged without making it look dull. I also like the way the sky is framing the sculpture. Nice capture. M

    Anatoly,

I like this photo a lot. I like the way the horse's ears fram the man's jaw so squarely. I like the gray tones in the statue. I wonder if the sky is a little blown out? If you have access to Lightroom, there is a tool on the upper right side to show black and white clipping. If you want to know more about that, email me. Nice shot. M

  3. Hello L. J.,

I love this photo of a Bald Eagle. It is quite sharp and I like that a lot. The only thing that bothers me is the chromatic aberration on the right side of the bird. I think that happens because of zooming, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure how you would correct it either unless you have access to Lightroom. M

I love photos like this. It's just poetry to me. I'd like to see it in black and white though. But it's crisp and wonderful. It makes my eye very happy. It's really fun to stare at. It starts to play tricks on your eyes. Just fabulous.

Love that there are four then three then two. Brilliant.

  4. Well, excellent exposure, terrific composition, drama, silky grays... uh... I'd say that's just about perfect. I'd hang this on my wall.

My favorite architecture photographer on p.n is Jef Van den Houte. At first glance I thought it was his. You could do a lot worse than that. Nice job!! M

  5. I like the subject in this. I like the vertical perspective. It is a little blurry though, maybe due to a filter? Also, it seems a bit crooked to me. If you have access to Photoshop, choose, distort->lens correction. That will let you adjust the photo precisely and to measure with a grid. I find that very useful because sometimes, most times :) my photos are crooked. I do like the exposure. Lovely building. M

  6. Where to begin? Love the dead center placement, that the end of the pier is perfectly parallel to the horizon, the light rays through the clouds continue the diagonal lines on the pier rails. Great color, nice exposure, although the foreground is a tiny bit dark for me. But it works for this photo: into the light. Terrific sunset photo! M

  7. It looks surreal and draws me down/up/down/up over and over. I guess it's just up, but it has that special characteristic of being optically wonky.

It bothers me a little that the inside of the smallest square is crooked. I probably would have made that the only perfect square of the whole shot, but I'm not you, now am I? Best regards, M

Love the processing, the people looking like ghosts as they move. Lovely colors and great sky! I am a sucker for anything triangular in a photo, and this one caught my eye. M
