Thanks all, I truly appreciate all the responses. I think selling myself is where I am going to take it. Adorama just seems to good to be true. They have contacted me through email as well through phone and sent a link to print a ups slip to send to them. When I talked to them it just seemed to robotic and formulated to take too seriously. Also reading through all the negative feedback on this site really seals the deal. I am new to photo.net and I am finding it informative as well as inspirational.

Well not yet. I have a unique and rare lens that I am trying to sell, it is a 1200mm F11 Nikon. I cannot find online anywhere where one is currently be sold as is or as an auction. Or an accurate value to go on. I have gotten quotes from KEH at 1500, a small private collectible camera store in California for 1000 , BH is still doing research, and Adorama seems very interested as they are offering me 2500 sight unseen with free shipping to their door. I just do not want to go through the hassle of packing up this monstrosity only for them to tell me when they get it that they will pay much much less. Or if I do accept their quote only to find later on that in a fierce bidding war on Ebay it went for $5000! Any suggestions?

Has anyone had Good, Bad experiences with this company. Looking to sell some

lenses to them and got a quote that seemed really high. Do they do that just to

get your stuff in their doors, then downgrade the quote?

Thanks guys for the answers and also to the serial number search. The model I have is the N version. #150064 I also looked into KEH and they wanted around 1500, but that is just the wholesale price. What type of markup do they put on their equipment? I would like to sell this lens or possible get it insured. THanks
