1.
Better late to the party than never...
Shot this last October on a visit to Martha's Vineyard for the annual Striped Bass Derby. Torn between fishing and catching images, I managed to spend a little time with my Nikon.

 2.
Last night's post wedding ceremony entertainment was quite the scene. I realized I might have been a bit too close to the action when I felt the heat of the flames on my face. No Nikons were injured during this shoot.

00X2yy-267869584.jpg.77a4b3f1fce6f07b692f44f7922e0dd7.jpg

 3.
Aloha, and Happy Wednesday
My neighbors asked me if I would capture some images of their two month old son. I said I would be glad too, and I really had fun with the shoot. I did a simple conversion to black and white for a different look.

00Vr9m-223635784.jpg.f2b7cd7006c7d3b10b0fbfa5722f3e07.jpg

 4.
My contribution today is a new orchid bloom from my small collection. I wanted to play around with a combination of two speedlights to create a soft and dramatic look to this amazing bloom. I used a softbox on one camera left and a snoot on the other light to highlight the center of the flower. I used a reflector below right for a little fill as well.

00VUcT-209597584.jpg.5ff5cbc1b6c70f5a4760963b90dbea18.jpg

 5.
Good Maui Morning!
The winter swells arrived this week, and "Jaws" put on quite a show. The waves were in the thirty foot range, and the tow-in surf crew took advantage of the conditions. The rumbling of the crashing waves, and the amount of spray in the air was amazing. The guys that ride these giants are fearless. Nikon D200,18-200AF.
6.
Happy Wednesday to all! What an incredibly beautiful and diverse assortment of images today. My contribution is an image taken at a wonderful general store/deli in Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard. People gather here for coffee, lunch, and the latest happenings.

00UkJg-180375584.jpg.7e546cb4405a74921489eec254d79d47.jpg

 7.
My contribution this week is an image taken at sunrise en route to a fishing trip on Martha's Vineyard. This ferry makes the trip a couple times a day transporting people and cars to The Vineyard. Captured with my D200 and 17-55 F2.8 ISO 200 1/160 @F5.6

00Uggu-178753784.jpg.5f12a8046b361d5ccd120a20c11f0662.jpg

 8.
Happy Wednesday!
Late to the party, but this image is from the Lanai to Maui Channel swim this past weekend. Our team consisted of six awesome swimmers who finished in the top ten out of sixty teams. Job well done!

00URnL-171275584.jpg.bea9954c9cb09bf2f20e0c7def3a6534.jpg

 9.
Another fabulous Wednesday. So many wonderful images once again. My submission this week is from a wedding I shot recently in Haiku. I always look for detail shots, and was glad to capture this one. In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten the inscription on the glass........

00UK5U-167987584.jpg.528ac25a03200bc0fe35a3ba95b9172c.jpg

 10.
My submission today is an image from The Race Track in Death Valley taken earlier this year. I was told by several people in the park to avoid this spot, as the road in is extremely treacherous, and could yield severe consequences. Drive on! Well, I was not disappointed, and made it back safely. The large rocks on the dry lake bed mysteriously move, and leave trails of their adventure.

00UFyB-166401684.jpg.32df9a883e87408706ef22e4c8b7e599.jpg

 11.
After the threat of Hurricane Felicia finally subsided, I went for a ride this morning to enjoy some nice weather. I stopped on the side of the road where Marko was kind enough to offer a sample of freshly cut sugar cane. Sweet!

00UCQQ-164627584.jpg.d80b68c68cc9b69f0bffd31af9e6bfb8.jpg

 12.
Wow! Great images here. First timer for me. Shot at a wedding this weekend in Haiku.
Lovely B and G, and beautiful location. This forum has inspired me to take my gear out with me today and shoot.
Mahalo all!
