  1. I would like to thank all of you for your kind answers, they are really helping me in making a choice here, its a tough one thats for sure.

I live in Costa Rica and thats why humidity is really an issue for me, I have a EF 75-300 full of dirt and fungi, and i dont want to spend 1500 dollars and still get the same troubles.

    Thanks very much.

    Great shot Matt....

  2. Hi there, I have found a lot of information about this lens optics,

but nothing about the construction, specifically my concern is that

every push-pull zoom lens that I ever had sucked dust and humidity

    inside causing fungus very easily.

Of course I never had an "L" lens, so my questions is that if this

problem is somehow fix in the EF 100-400 4.5-5.6 L IS.

Thanks very much, and forgive my english

  3. Hi, i found yesterday that there are two very little fungus (like * this!) in the front element of my 75-300mm usm, besides those the lens is perfectly clean, so i was wondering if i could killem by sun baths (is this really helthy!) or should i take it to the doc?, anyway i live in Costa Rica and here is fungusland how can i keep them from grow again in the same or other lens. (the cheap way!)

Really, thanx in advance. And forgive my english.

  4. Hi, i own a rebel x and im thinking of getting the battery pack bp-8 for it, cause the camera feels very small and also cr123a batteries arent that popular here in Costa Rica where i live. My question is about battery consumption cause i read in the B&H site that the battery pack will give about 100 rolls with AA alkaline batteries, is this true, does plain AA duracell alkaline batteries will last long than the lithium ones under the same use? Cause it thats tue its just great.

Thanks in advance and forgive my english.
