Great pics! No snow here yet, other than a light dusting every now and then. Bummer really, been looking forward to getting some snow shots after living in Florida for six years. Anyway, here's mine for the week. Happy Holidays!

I think I've seen a couple ads spread out among some random magazines, but that's about it. For the most part, they're next to nil. I tried getting my sister-in-law to get a Pentax, she was in dire need of a new camera, but after all I told her, she still ended up getting a C...n, Oh well :)

-

Good one John, I do that already, it's crazy how hung up people are on the "canikon" stuff. :)

-

Just thought it was funny since people are always putting down the "canikon" market. Done and apologies.

-

I couldn't help myself :) I hope no one is offended...Happy Weekend!!

Ha! I just took this out of my kitchen window, just to see what would happen. Pretty cool if you ask me. :) I did point at blank wall and nothing came up, so I'm guessing there's no dust...good! Thanks for the help!

Mis: Have not tried a blower, I'll give it a go later.

Paul: I could make a ton of these and they would all look different, all I have to do is get it so people will take an interest, could be the next modern art haha :)

Michael: Hopefully I'll be able to try that this weekend, it's been pretty overcast lately :(

Thanks for the tips!

Another pic to show what I'm talking about...very disturbing.

This picture is from the K20 dust alert function. It's pretty shocking, I tried the dust removal function a number of times, checking afterwards to see if it was gone, only to find that the dust moved and made interesting patterns...I put the mirror up so I could see if there was in fact any dust on the sensor....could not see any, tell me what you think...

Okay, either I'm doing something wrong or the aperture ring doesn't work. Is there anything special I need to do? I took the back flange off to avoid grinding it down. Whenever I turn my K20 on, it asks for a focal length too...don't know if that is normal either. Any help?

-

I would sign up, but I'd be afraid of messing something up as I'm not used to film, and then my contribution would be two black frames...lol

-

Just recieved mine from ebay! Now I have to find the time to grind that back part off to fit. Can't wait to get this thing going, the pictures posted are stunning, hopefully I have a bit of luck with mine.

I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for one of these! Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it. :)

New text editor still isn't working but I think I've found a work-around, lets see...
Just messing around with different effects and such.

Argh, this new text editor isn't working for me, will have to try later... :(

-

Don't know if it just me or what, but when I go to click on the html button or the insert picture button, it tells me 404 Not Found. I'm running IE7 :) and i've got javascript enabled with all updates. Sorry if you're already working on this.

Hmmm, sounds like I need a bit of practice with this whole HDR thing, I was rather fond of the results I got though. Thank you for the tips and advice, I'll have to play a bit more and be more discerning of whether a shot is HDR worthy or not.
-

Here are my first attempts at HDR. Each picture was made with 5 exposures at 1ev intervals, put into
Photomatix, and processed under the tone compression method. Let me know what you think.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. These threads have exploded with quality pics since I was here last. Having just moved, I'm hoping to get back out there soon and explore my new surroundings. Thanks again.

Great pics everyone!
Bob, those BW's are great and Duane, I love the lighting in Fall Grass.
I haven't shot much recently, but here's a couple shots from last month.

I just picked up a K20 for the same price I paid for my K10, of course, probably like most, I'll be keeping my K10 as a backup. It hasn't seen much action since acquiring the 20... :)

Okay, here's the edited versions...better? Still need more work?

Morgan: the edited pic looks way better, thanks!
I'm going to see if I can fix these up, and re-post them.
