I agree with all of the above. And the best way to thank Bob is to patronize his company if you can. Good customer service deserves a certain amount of loyalty.

This has been addressed generally but not specifically, as far as I
can see. Does anyone have any experience with the Fujinon 240A on the
Horseman FA or HD camera? This is at the outside edge of what is
supposed to work, but I'd prefer it to a 210 lens. Will the 300T
work? What is the closest focus with either? Horseman HD & FA bellows
draw is 249mm.

I have a Horseman HD and 135 Caltar (Rodenstock) N that folds into
the camera, and infinity stops for this lens. I believe if you were
just taking "general aim", and metered quickly, you could get a shot
off in less than thirty seconds rather easily. In fact, it would
probably take longer to set up a tripod. Whether you "should" is
another story, I guess. This camera is also very compact and rigid.
The 249mm bellows draw is probably the main drawback to the HD & FA.
No real long lenses.

Frank, I've been using an $80 Bill Blass rolling suitcase. Soft leather, but I pack it properly and I've always got control of it, so it's not abused. It's inside dimensions are approx. 14x21x7, so a Gitzo 1228 sans head fits. I think this is at the outer limit of what is guaranteed to make it as a carry-on. Here in Houston, one of the airports has a barrier with a cut-out at the entrance to the x-ray machine, and anything too big to fit through the opening is supposed to be checked. This bag fits. I've also found that "mattress-pad" type foam is a good padding. I've taken an 8x10 & lens in this bag with room to spare. Big wheels with wide base, too.
Unfortunately, I have no specific # for this, but I guess I'm saying, don't limit yourself to "photo cases".

Are there any big camera shows/expos in the US where most of the LF manufacturers/makers and/or distributors exhibit? I've been trying to decide on a 4x5 field camera (and a CF tripod, for that matter)and it would be nice to be able to see all in one place. If not, is a trip to NYC my next best bet? Thanks!

Hi, I'd like to get a good quality metal field camera like the Horseman FA, and would like a the best possible lens small enough to fold with the camera for portability. Ideally this would be the Rodenstock 150/5.6 APO Sironar S, which is highly recommended. If not, what top lens in the 90mm to 150mm range would work? Thanks!

Hi, Has anyone out there actually used a Granview 4x5? What are positives/negatives? Easy to travel with? How precise is focus...will it rival sharpness of field camera with comparable lens? Can Quick Loads be used? If movements aren't critical, is this camera as good as it looks? Any dirty little secrets to be aware of? Thanks!

What is the fastest/ easiest 4x5 to set up & use in the field? Are the rangefinders on Linhofs or Wista etc. helpful in accelerating the process? Thanks!
65 mm vs 50 mm as a second lens for a "slightly wide of normal" kind of photographer.
