  1. <p>Thankyou the information to date . something else i'm wondering is there a difference in telephoto and zoom lenses if so what and would one or the other help me to get a more full frame shot . I remember several yr's ago before digital was really the thing . I had borrowed a film type 35mm camera with some attachable lenses one i tried just zoomed subjects right up in full frame and it wasn't a big huge lense like the 3oo mm i use is a fairly lg lense . I'm a bit confused on that . I was able to photograph subjects from a distance that were totaly unaware of my presence </p>
  2. <p>Hello I have an Olympus Evoltie S10 Camera last year i purchased a hoya 140/300 mm lense that i thought would get me those long shots but haven't gotten what i'm looking for yet i'm in an area where there are lots of Birds of prey they spook real easy any suggestions on what to do or maybe witch direction to go with my problem. 3. Thankyou Tim for your support and professionalism .. I do believe in myself and constructive critiques on photo, net have made me a much better Photographer..I think overall being a member has been one of my better choices in life , I have had some dealings witrh some very outstanding and understanding people on the site.. I'm happy and proud to be a member of such a great community... Thanks again Tim Holte
  4. Thankyou Josh you've always been very helpfull for me . In answer to you Tim ,, I felt it had a good comp very good and unusual lighting . Well focused and a hand held slowshutter shot.. To you John I found your reponse less then needed. But thanks just the same .. It's hard sometimes to stay inspired in what we do in our craft if you will and no one is perfect I had a bad day yesterday ... Ratings mean a lot in staying inspired . I know as well as anyone that has been with Photo.net any length of time this rating could get better as time goes by .. Like the thread said I was frustrated. I wasn't trying to claim anything at all.. Just trying to learn... Thankyou all for your help.........A special thanks to Josh Root I know you been frustrated a time or two with Imagepro and I think you've done a great job !!!
  5. When there have been no viewings and I get ratings how does that happen Rainer T .. I guess I don't understand.. I

realize that others can apply ratings such as this but this one is an example of what I described above and also

here .. I'm not trying to cast fault just trying to understand all this ..My ratings have been climbing for the last 2-3

    months . I'm not disatisfied .

  6. Well my link is working now thankyou and I'm sorry for my frusrations .. But I still think that the rate system of the

elves is a little off balance . Seems like there should be some guide lines .. I assume they are Photo.net " elves "

when no views have been made but I have ratings . Other then that I have been very impressed.. Photo.net has done

a lot in the way of launching a career in photography for Me ...Again I'm sorry and I thank you ..Continued

  7. My name is Steve campbell , When I log into my image pro account everything is working fine now .. when I log out

there is a link to pass on to others so can go directly to my photo's . That used to be fine now it takes me to a whole

new website that shows 12 featured photographers that is fine. I know I'm no big deal but I don't see any way to find

the other photographers like me ... My photography has just started to get to a level where I think maybe It's

sellable . After many months of me staying patient with photo.net and imagepro this is such a let down .. I'm very

dissapointed and am a paid subscriber .... Also the elves seems to be very off on there ratings .. For example see

my pic tagged Rapids it was given a 3.50/3.50 even at my level I see more in that pic then that... I hope to hear

back soon Sincerly Steve F. Campbell<div>00RLLj-84145584.jpg.a0b368cde192421c01103da630dfa82f.jpg</div>

  10. I own an Oylmpus E-510 I bought what your descibing the two lens pack .. I feel like today for the money you'll find nothing better it's has everything you could want .. I've added the 70-300mm lens just of late and that has helped my long range shots . .. A few affordible filters and you'll be suprised... I love the 14-40 lens that's part the of the dual pack for evry day shooting and the 40-150 the other half of the pack within it's ranges is very nice as well.. I would highly recommend them to you.. I'm very pleased with mine<div>00R9jl-78441584.thumb.jpg.10e5e44ae5a3bf05865b8a01c51c529d.jpg</div>
  11. Well thanks to my last thread posting I've gained a new lense for my E -510 LS.. Everyone was so helpful in helping

me to decide the best way to go on getting closer subjects from a longer distance at a reasnonable rate without

loosing quality.. Some things were pointed out to me like the need for good lighting with this lens . That saved me a

lot of experiments . I'm very pleased with it overall like all lenses it has it's limitations .. I'm leaving a couple of my

trial shots and saying thanks again to alll who advised and showed concern to help others . Let me know what

you think so far . I'm still gettiing aquainted with it.. ...Steve F. Campbell<div>00R9e6-78387584.thumb.jpg.f0d162e5daa412b1796ceb82a5f0c0fe.jpg</div>

  12. Thankyou Mel for your input . I've heard a lot about the 50-200 lens.. I found a 70-300 on sale new and have purchased it for now .. If you look at my portfolio you see photo tagged wabbit under my folder tagged pets .. The 300 is going to meet my needs I believe . But like others have pointed out it likes ample lighting and either a tripod or a rest of some type .. I'm actually suprised at the 300 quickness.. I'm sure at some point I'll have to own the 50-200 lens as well... Thankyou Steve
  13. Thankyou all for your input. Everyone has been very helpfull.. I'm anxious to test out the 70-300 lens . I appreciate

the advise on the performance in low lighting for this lens..I do own and use a tripod but it's certainly not the best on

the market .. That will probably be my next investment.. Thankyou all.... Signing up with Photo.net has been the

biggest step in my Photography advancement ...... Steve F. Campbell

  14. I agree with what your saying Rick all the way around .. I appreciate you taking the time to stop and explain these factors to me . I ordered a 70-300 lens with cleaning kit tonight $345.oo including shipping. It's getting great reviews by lots of co's and people... We'll see how it does .. Thankyou everyone for the suggestions and ideas you givin to me .. Thanks Steve F. Campbell
  15. The Photo above wasn't the one I wanted to show but is from the same group the Horses were just out of range for the 40-150 lenses and ther were some great action shots of these yearlings after a little rain .. ( a rare moment ) It was jus frustraiting when I got home and uploaded them to realize my subject were to small for any good detail ..<div>00Qtik-71823584.thumb.jpg.f1e89633404039b40ebdc72c89569e1c.jpg</div>
  16. Thankyou Dara I'll look into your suggestion . Autofocus speed normaly isn't a problem . I also use the image -stabilization a lot my hands can be a little shakey at times .. Thanks again for your help<div>00QtiF-71819684.thumb.jpg.a8d0674888739f21e3294c80d6bfa4dc.jpg</div>
  17. Let me rephrase my guestion I'm looking for a lense that will get me a lot closer to my subjects without spooking them .. Would a teleconverter do that for me without loosing any quality. Also are there larger zoom lenses that will fit this camera that aren't so high priced.. I agree that both lenses listsed above are great lenses.. What I was unhappy with was I thought the 40-150mm would bring things closer in size. I'm very happy with the group package but I just didn't undersstand ... Like I said I'm very new to all this ..
  18. Hello , I purchaced an Olympus E-510 camera I bought the package deal that includes14 -42 mm lense and the 40-

150mm lense both have a 58mm base .This was my first real digital camera besides point and shoot and I thought I

was getting a regular lense and a zoom . Now that I know I'm unhappy with the performance of the 40 -150 mm

lens .I.ve looked around at some of the zoom lenses offered by olympus and theyr're asking a couple thousand

dollars as many of you know .. I'm not a tight wad but it seems like there might be something I'm missing .. I don't

think from my findings that a teleconverter will give as quality of picture that zoom will.. However they are

consideratably cheaper .. I'm asking for input and some advise towards what I should do to solve my problem .. Wild

life Photography is what I'm aiming for .. Bear in mind I'm a little new to all this so my findings to date could very well

be all wrong . Thankyou for any and all advise to my situation.. Steve F. Campbell
