  1. First I'll say that I think there could be a lot of personal emotion behind a capture like this.  After all it really is memories and I always enjoy looking back at family shots no matter what they look like.  So as fun little shot for the family it's great.  And if that's the only thing you're wondering then I would stop reading here :)

As a critique of the photo itself then this is just a plain old snapshot to me.  It lacks clarity, story, composition, emotion to the outside viewer, and has many distracting factors.  While I can see the family value of this capture being very high...looking at it from the strictly photographic sense this would score a 1 out of 5 at best for me.

I think for a shot like this it's one of those things where you see it very clearly in your mind and it looks good.  It's the delivery that's the part I always struggle with.

The image doesn't work for me.  It looks no different than if someone just pointed their camera up at the sky and took a shot of the moon.  But an image like this in my mind is being compared to some amazing shots of the moon that I've seen.  So sadly this falls into my "looks like an average snapshot" category.

Perfect capture :)  Although my negative critique would be that the photographers sock line is showing lol.

    Fun and great image!!!

Great capture.  Without the little tree the image would just be ok.  I think that does a good job of completing the shot.

I think this location has potential.  I'm a fan of both arches and repeating patterns.  The photo itself at this time does not work for me.  It's somewhat bland, tells no story and the composition is also off.  The sliver of white  sun peeking through on the left side and the lower left brick wall are one distraction but overall there's nothing in this image that I see as being of any photographic value.

    But...

With all that harshness aside I think there is potential in this location especially if you bring a subject here for a portrait and recompose the image as well as re-edit it.  So while this image doesn't do much, I think it's a stepping stone to go back and photograph again.
