1.
I have the same problem about one month. Access to "My Workspace" for example take a loooong time and usually ending with "Time-out". And this is not the only problem. 1) The site became slower that it was a month ago. 2) About a month I cannot rate images at my home PC, it shows me some server errors at photo.net. But am successful to rate at my office PC. 3) I cannot re-order my folders, it just doesn´t react. At any computer. 4) Sometime periodically I cannot re-order photos in a folder. All these problems met since the end of February. Important to note that today I am using the same computer and the same programmes as a month ago.
I am sure that all these anomalies are temporary and I am patient:-). No problem, just a bit unhappy;-).

 2.
I am a big fan of photo.net and I think that this is a well supported best photography community. This is well designed, developed and managed, but am not sure about the recent concept about voting comments. To me all comments are very useful and valuable, is it a one word or a long analytical comment. I am also happy if there is just a comment like "beautiful", "excellent" etc, because this is also helpful to me and I understand that someone was stopping by, took a time and left a comment because she/he like this and gives some support to continue on same direction. I am not going to use the comments voting system, because I appreciate all comments and am not going to vote comments of photos that are not mine.
Of course this kind of comments like "beautiful" or "amazing" are not helpful for third person but why third person should have an access to vote these comments?
We also have to understand another importand issue - this is an INTERNATIONAL community where a lot of fellows are not English speaking. Most of these people know single words or frases like "excellent", "fantastic", great work", "nice composition", "beautiful colours", etc, but are not able to write long sentences of constructive analytical text in English. There are perhaps also people who cannot use their fingers on keybord on some other reasons. There is an idea written in preambula of this forum "we will identify them (the people leaving helpful comments - GV) with a special user icon and will give their extra visibility in various areas of the site". I found this discriminative. There are a lot of people not leaving "helpful" comments, because they are not English-speaking inspite the fact that their portfolios are fantastic and they do excellent work. But they will be on disadvanaged postion because they are just non-English speaking.
