  1. <p>I saw another thread asking the same question yesterday, but couldn't find it

again. (I had wanted to piggyback)

Anyway, just got the 24-70 f2.8 yesterday and since I'm bringing it back to

Asia,(this is USA warranty only), I figure I need to test it out properly.

I read about the battery test and the focustestchart but since I don't have a

tripod, I just "used my hands"

    I don't think I have a front/back focus issue.

As far as I can tell, I think I have a good copy of this lens.

  2. I'm (more) than a bit confused over the different choices of Polarising filters

which is available. So, this is a more or less a general post to ask which would

be a good but not too expensive polarising filter which I can get for my soon to

    arrive 24-70 F2.8L lens. (77mm)

    Thanks

  3. I just recently gotten the 580 EX II flash using the above coupon (receiving the item tomorrow! Can't hardly wait!)

It's between a 70-200L IS vs 24-70 2.8 debate for me as well. Only thing is, I doubt I'll be so dilligent to take the 70-200 1.4kg lens everywhere just to do some simple snapping. That's the headache but I do like the 2.8 for low light weddings etc.

  4. I got this lens from Asia. I got it for USD257 equilvalent. But since then, some of my friends has gotten it for USD212 equilvalent.

The IS is nice, and when compared to the 70-300, the f number is the same anyway, so its comparable.

I would prefer something with a bigger f number though, for more available light indoors.
