Sorry folks, I told you I was new

-

I'm new at this, so please bear with me. New years eve my mother told me there there was supposed to be a blue moon that night, so I rushed out side set up the pod and remote and snaped a few pics, but did not apear to be blue to me, so I thought...., that took a while for me. White balance, i changed the w/b to incendecent light. That did it, so now I had a blue moon, well not really, it just looked that way, thanks for looking , oh there is a lot of wonderful pics on here. I hope the pic shows up , i'm not to sure on how to load it on here.

Why do we not want to buy the18-200 lens?

TOMMY,
DO YOU KNOW WHERE I MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET ONE?

-

Does anyone know if they make an adapter from old non-AF lenses to the AF lens?

I took this with a Z612 kodak p&s, f/4 ,ISO 80,1/500sec,33mm away. Ive found you can get good BOKEH if you know what you are doing, just play around with your camera, and if you have any common sense about yourself you will figure it out. Happy shooting!!

Thanks for all your help.now I dont even know what a 'beercan' is,I used to see a lot of Marine Corps buddies drink out of some. I don't care what you call the lens I bought I know this it dosent say "beercan" on the lens anywhere, it says Minolta MaXXum..... I just wanted to know what kind of quality it was, and Peter Blaise Monahon I think did a good job of telling what this lens was like. Please don't get in a stupid argument over the nikname of a 24 year old lens. Is it good quility? Is it worth the $10.00 I payed for the camera the two lens and the flash?I dont yet know what the pictures will come out like yet I will find out the first of next week but I feel sure I will get my moneys worth, thanks again

Thanks for the info i will share some of the photos when i get it devoloped, however my scanner is a low end so the scans will not have the same quailty as the picture , thanks again

I found info on the light meter, i still want the other info

I just bought a minolta maxxum 5000 af with a maxxum 1800 af flash,a maxxum 50mm af 1:1.7(22) lens,and a
maxxum af zoom 70-210 1:4(32)lens. I have most of the boxes and papers. i was just wanting to know a little history
on this camera,as in what kind of reviews did it get in its day. the manual says it is a 1986 model. I have not
devolped any film out of it, but all functions seem to be working well,oh where is the light meter for when you want all
manual mode.thanks any info would be great, thanks

I think all of yall have too much time and money on yalls hands. This reminds me of the old agument of the corvette
and the mustang,as to which is better.Lets try comparing apples to apples, not oranges to oranges.Adan Dickernson
said it right when he said "Nikon and Canon make fine products, and Nikons are getting a lot better. I would base my
decision on investment and intensions, if you have an extensive collection of lenses and they work great for you;
stick with your equipment. Both cameras offer a great solution to your needs; depending on your requirements and
budget, you will not be disappointed with either body. Plus with the money you will save getting the 5DmkII, you
could get some sweet glass over the excessive penalty involved in purchasing the D3." I'm still tring to buy a used
digital Nikon(D200) but the money is not there so i do what i can do with what ive got. My little Kodak z612 holds up
well to the elements, and has taken over 5500 pictures this year flawlessly. And besides if you dont have a good eye
or you are going to totaly warp your didgtal image you don't need to spend $2,000-$3,000 on a camera . buy a point
and shoot pocket camera, that will yeild the same results. On the mp concern... if i have 12,000mp on a 3x5 index
card or 21,000mp on a 3x5 index card the index card with 12,000mp, each mp will be larger and less distorted when
enlarged, thats the way I see it. I hope you all had a great thanksgiving and my God bless!
