Hi
I am not trying to advertise my site here.
If you follow the link below you will see two images I snapped and downloaded from the card at 25600 ISO. No modifications.
If you go to the upper right hand side of the image you have an option to see the image full size straight out of the camera.
I know they have no merit as images so no critique required.
I will leave them there for 7 days.
I hope this helps the discussion.

Something seems very wrong. With the financial position manufacturing and sales are in you would think there would be a plentifull supply of everything. Why not?
Perhaps Yakin is right?
I can buy an American import for the same price as Calumet (100 Macro) but don't want to take the risk.

Sorry Bob,
Should have made it clear I am in the UK.

Hi
Has anyone tried to purchase a Canon lens recently?
I have shopped for:-
16-35

All on substantial back order?

Now this couldn't be Canon restricting supply to maintain prices could it? No I was told, there was such a rush when they leaked a price increase that supplies have dried up.

I have a 5D MKII. I purchased it to take still images not for the video function. Video is another art form as far as I am concerned and I haven't matered taking still images yet.
Also, you need a new set of software to edit the video, got to be really interested to invest in that and invest in time to climb the learning curve. Why do that when it costs so much to keep what you have up to date.
There are uses for the video I am sure but as far as I am concerned it is a niche market.
I do use the live view and find that very useful for closeup work and portrait.

Yes you can use live view to focus. I find this feature useful.
Just to help you a little, 'you will be a lesser person without a 5D MKII' lol
I am very happy with mine.

7d with vs 5dmkII for weddings
in Canon EOS Mount
Posted

I went for the MKII fantastic.
For weddings I don't think there is a competition.
With either you will see a major improvement in IQ over your 40D.
Lenses? you will see a difference when loosing the 1.6 factor, imo for the better.

In the end in all these issues it comes down to you. Have you thought of hiring both for a few days?

Best Wishes
