I think you might google the words Graphics Designer.
It looks like you will fit in and about 25 percent are self employed.
I just got a new friend on Myspace that has her own magazine and I would like to do something like it once I find a nich.
Im not telling you to not be a photographer because if your a graphic designer it can put your camera to work so much you will get sick of it. It really doing the same kinda work in a closely related field just different title.
If anyone here has a fashion mag they can tell ya about it.

Oh if your camera has a pre-flash Its better to use the remote radio triggers.
-
Use remote flash triggers or slave triggers.
I Bought 2 slave triggers for about $25 and 2 quick charging flash guns at the flea market for $8.
Just slide the triggers onto the flashes and place them where ever you want. You will need a master flash on the camera for slaves or spend more and get remote radio triggers.
This might really sound low budget.

I forgot the name of the stuff.

I was a Creative Arts and Technologies student. CAAT
My campus has 2 photography classes.
B/W and digi. I didnt take the digital class but I did take all these other classes that photo students have to take.
The B/W is for learning the camera and darkroom, the digital is more alike an introduction to PhotoShop. The same instructor taught both.
Then then software gets a little more advanced Publication and Design Photoshop, illustrator, Indesign. It mostly is a class on design and sending the work to a pro-print shop. The photo students didnt need this class.
Then Computer graphicsI with a whole semester of PhotoShop, Illustrator. Photo students had this class.
This might sound funny. Video and editing. Yes the photo students had to take this class. It was learning the same stuff over like in photography but in motion. White balance, rule of 1/3 ect....
--------------
I think adding InDesign, and Illustrator classes would be good because I found myself taking pics for a lot for InDesign and drawing a lot of vectors for using in PhotoShop.
What I have heard from most of the photo students that I know is when they are looking for a job. In interviews the lack of web design skills and sometimes using InDesign.
One of my photo friends ended coming back for taking web design classes and ended up taking the rest of the classes that I did for a CAAT.
Now the student dean decided the photo students need web design and its required.

10mb on Yahoo.
The file can be split and sent in 2 emails. It would have to be combined again. I would use 7z-zip.
File hosting is the best but make sure the person you send the link to has the space. Does the person your emailing to using a home PC.
Some companies and schools only have 50megs of personal server space and could already be close to maxing out. Can get around that by downloading to a thumb drive.

Im thinking that sometime people with a lot of education and spent half an hour on composition might feel upset if a new someone beats him at a show if someone that used the technique of putting on a blindfold and clicking buttons won first place.
Not everyone is like that and knows some of the best photos are random point and click. Some will never get over it.
Always an elitist out there think they are the best and everyone else ****s and it doesnt matter what gen of forum your in.
I think some groups in Myspace is pretty bad. I even see profiles that say just that. "Im an elitist and you ****." You know for sure they wont talk about technique.
The cool people out number the elitist in every forum.

Taking about history it repeating itself as Gerry pointed out.
I say film is almost dead. 10 years from now we will be selling our used 30mp+ DSLR's with 700gb flash cards to junk collectors for $30 at the flea market and cell phone cams will take better pics than what we have today.
I also think that history will show that composition is hard to beat.

The concert.
Still go on the trip but at a latter Time. Then use the extra Time for planning a better trip. Too many cool places to visit and with more Time you might plan something in that you might miss.
You can still listen to Pink Floyd on the trip. The song Time on The Dark Side of the Moon.

I dont have a camera like this. I shopped for a camera that uses AA.
If red is charging, green is charged Im thinking blinking is bad connection.
Take the battery out and look at the contacts. I might have a thin piece of plastic that protects the battery from shorts for shipping.
The pdf instructions download is too long for me slow connection.

Its funny how so many digi photographers are doing B&W instead of color.
I read that Intel is working on a new conductor material that will make chip density even higher so moore's law will continue for at least 10 years. Imagine $90 cameras with 80 mp ten years from now.
Thats a great link Doug real history. I not very many old color film sites like that.

I know the USDA had a photography department forever and keep archives in perfect condition.
I googled with USDA and got B/Ws. I know they must have excellent color somewhere.
This is time traveling.
-
The concert because bands are not always around forever. I hate to say this. I wish that I could have seen SRV. The road will always be there.

I like your pics. Dont let the ratings bother you if someone like them thats all that matters.
It all can be skewed anyway because of the type of audience.
I might like pics of a bike junk yard, someone else might like a lawn full of frosted littered candy wrappers and yes the litter won first place at the local art show. With a larger biker audience at another show maybe the junk yard would win.

Oh thanks for the chart Chris.

The math I dont use it. I guess or estimate / guestimate.
F 2 you would need a faster shutter speed f 11 slower shutter speed.
I have seen a simple chart that shows the matching numbers.
For me setting aperture to get depth of field is estimating and knowing what you what the photo to look like. I dont pull a chart out.
If your outside that can change fast like on a partly cloudy day the intensity of light change quick and you will change change the shutter speed settings so when adjusting aperture for DOF keep an eye on the meter. The numbers dont have to be set exactly to what a chart shows if you capture all the detail you can edit it with software.

Ok I settled down.
If you got the .fla file that one is editable. Flash movie Authoring file. .swf is the rendered file and its not editable.
I hope you can get this settled..
It might be worth the money to buy Adobe and take a class at your local college, then you need anyone to do it for you and if you want to make changes no waiting. You can get the whole Adobe suite for how you spent.

If the flash file doesnt run locally with your browser it wont work when you upload it to a host. I think he is (censored)

Ya.
Kerry said It. It seem like I keep taking classes and learning all kinds of stuff on my own. Im 45 and took some classes last fall.
If you want to go to school, find one that has instructors that care about student success. Go shopping some of the best are not the most expensive.
If you go to the school of hard knocks it will take much longer to learn all the skills or you may never learn it.
Something that my last instructor told said,
"Its true that you can teach an old dog new tricks."
-
To tell ya the truth.
All most everyone that goes to college gets a job not related to the field of study. Its just a piece of paper showing that you can learn skills. I have a arts degree, and a couple of other diplomas and Im thinking of being a truck driver.
Career change, studying in the US, EU or in Japan?

A link to my friends mag. Its about extreme music and stuff.
If you go for graphics design I think you would be well rounded for doing something like this and photography. With the IT, computer science and Java skills I think would make you go full circle.
