I think Exceptional is the only word; the colors are perfect, the subject is in great position, and it's crispy detail suits the image.  It's just "got it" and that makes it exceptional.

I'll add my vote to the origonal image is the best. The clouds are more dramatic and the image is more alive. While the crop was nice and striking it looked a little too plastic. They both seem to say something a different though, both might be quite appropriate; just my favorite is the original by quite a margin.

I'd try another rendering as well blurring the background even more making it even more of an abstract.

 

 

Stunning Photo with a winsical sense of play I would think could be a BIG MONEY maker for you. I hope you're shopping it around. The stop motion capture works perfectly, just enough blur on the wing, but the droplets clinch it. The background is smooth with great tints. The sharp eye and beak draw you right in. LOVE IT ! LOVE IT ! LOVE IT !

Just to balance the comment above, I think the photo is underrated. The lighting establishes a certain mood that connects with me. I've never been there, so is it the same mood I would want to capture if I was there, I can't say. Still strong image!
