I've had the same problem with the 28-55mm lens that came with my D50 for about 8 months now. I got about a year's worth of use out of it before it started acting up, as described above.
My question is: can the lens be repaired/cleaned/oiled/something? Is this something I can do myself? Is there a repair place out there that can do this?
