Thanks for the critique Alex. And I agree completely. I had to burn out the shaft because the actual spoon wasn't silver but a gunmetal color so it looked rather dingy and just ugly. Probably should've fixed the reflection though.. Thanks for commenting!

WOW!! I remember using this photo as an inspiration for a project in my photography class like 4 years ago. What a memory to see it here. Of course my photo had results nowhere near as good as this but I just wanted to share that =)

Love love love the lightening! Excellent use of prop and she is just drop dead gorgeous.

I agree with the top comment though, the top is a little bit out of focus. It is rather hard with abstracts because they have no "subject" so you don't really know what you're meant to focus your eyes on. So I think it is important to either have all in focus or just one particular area you meant for viewers to draw their eyes on.

I never liked doing portrait photography so I can't comment on that aspect. Sorry.. But I do know that this is a lovely picture with wonderful composition. What a beautiful dress also.

HOLY MOLY!!! His knees are like what 1 inch from the floor?? This is an insane picture that made me cringe =)

But on the technical aspect, it is very impressive you captured him so clearly. They must've been going so fast you'd have to plan ahead of where they'd be..right?

I disagree. The rocks are perfect makes for a good contrast. This is a lovely photograph and depicts exactly what I'm feeling like right now =\

The lighting in this is a bit harsh. The leaves and the top of the flowers are over exposed. So my suggestion is to shoot in early morning light or evening light. Also try to get a better crop of just the flowers so the green leaves are not distracting. Maybe even shooting from a lower perspective so that you will have some green leaves in the foreground but once you focus on the flower, they will become blurry and add an "artistic" aspect. Wow long comment.. sorry!

Beautiful capture! I agree with the above poster, it is very slightly tilted to the left. You can tell by the vertical lines. But I like what you did with this entire picture. Purple trees were what def caught my eye. Almost looks like an HDR photograph.

Lovely combination between the black and the red. It makes her stand out and the light is fabulous.

However, it seems like something is missing... she seems awkwardly positioned..like her arm and her fingers seem too "posed". Nice capture nonetheless =)

I think a crop may be needed as her elbow is just hanging in mid air yet her hand is making the gesture that she is resting her elbow on something.

Maybe also shifting a bit more to the right so that her face is not so on the edge?

Although, typically with shots like these, it helps to have symmetry so the shot looks composed and draws the eye to the center.

Hmm I think you need more fill light on the right side of her face. You can still create that dramatic side lighting effect, but you usually need a fill light on the other side to avoid harsh lines like this. My suggestion would be a reflector or a small light box.

Hahah I'd say Miami does have its overwhelming share of beautiful women. But believe me when I say there are plenty of fat chicks in skimpy bikinis to offset that... With that said, I think she has an adorable nose!!
