For me, it's either conceptual or documentary, although more of the latter...
(was busy submitting my portfolio to Magnum this year)...
-
perhaps... although isn't the blabbering most of the fun too?
-
All of the pictures in Stephen Shore's "American Surfaces" was done with a Rollei 35 "point and shoot"... Good enough for me!
Also many of William Eggleston's pix are shot using an Olympus Stylus epic 35mm. Yep, sock that one in too.
-
Look at any book by Boris Mikhailov or Jan Saudek... those always test me.
Joel-Peter Witkin is another favorite who provokes me.
-
better than bicubic sampling upres in photoshop then?
-
btw, all of the files are outputted to print on Fuji Crystal Archive not inkjet.
-
What is the best way to upres 2-3 megapixel jpeg files (mostly from the Canon
D30 I shot a long time) for printing at 4 feet wide for exhibition?
Thanks.

http://www.polaroid.com/ifilm/en/index.html is the link... looks like everything will run out by the beginning of next year for series 600 film.
-
I presume that some other company is going to buy up this technology before it
gets discontinued? I know that Polaroid 600 film is still rather popular even
among professionals. So perhaps Fuji may buy it up?

Well she's a better photographer than any of us here... at least she got gallery representation at Scalo Guye in LA so I am not complaining like the other guys. It's awesome indeed and well, at least she can make a full time living from her photography.

or the lack of technique as a form of deconstruction!
-
question... what makes a person desire to shoot a photo instead of drawing or
painting the scene? And time factor isn't the only thing... what can photography
provide that painting or drawing or printmaking can't do?
-
I use a Sony Ericcson cell phone for shooting pics.
-
I'm willing to bet that the Leica DMR will do even much better with bad exposure than the canon 5d.
-
modern postcard could do that for you?
-
that's scary stuff... Orwell would be displeased.
-
sounds good... so there aren't any digital SLR that handle panorama in camera stitching?
-
are there any digital SLR's which shoot panoramic?
and the best point and shoot cameras with that function as well?
I was thinking about the sony f828 camera which looks awesome?
-
I kinda like the new abstract, dreamy Leica story on their website...
http://www.leica-camera.com/?mid=330 which is rather fascinating... like the
marriage proposal via Leica although how many girls will fall for that?
Anyways, either I like or must have drunken too much ralph gibson lately.
Anyone else dig it?
-
Ironically for me, frames are best when they are part of the artwork itself just like Howard Hodgkin's paintings...
-
I guess that I must be the minority but ever since I saw pexi sandwich/diasec
mounting on borderless photographs, I realize how much frames and mats distract
from what counts the most which is the picture itself.
Anyone in agreement or disagreement with this?

Indeed, a lot of it I really may not care for, but it's a fascinating concept which makes it a rather strong print version of Flickr. Also, read the new article about "Flickr" in the most recent issue of Aperture. Apparently some of it is even hitting up the museums!
-
I would love "art/conceptual photography" to be seperated.
-
Aperture and JPG magazine are my personal favorites. I don't like the arched elitism of B and
W or Lenswork which are overrated magazines and make better shredders than the
conceptual stuff I dig.
