I used to shoot quite a bit of macro and enjoyed it. I have a Nikon D40 and was
looking for an affordable lens for macro. The Nikon lens's are rather expensive
and was looking for a few suggestions on other 3rd party lenses for the camera.
Any recommendations on macro lenses would be great. (ie Sigma, Tameron etc..)

I just had the same problem with a D40 kit lens after about a month. The quality of Nikon seems not to be what it was. Perhaps it's time to go to Canon.
