Is this Cape Hatteras? The beach is really wide like this down near the point.

Star trails photographed during the perseids meteor shower.

There is one meteor in the photo although it is kind of hard to see.

exposure time was 30 seconds for each image, iso 3200, 50

images stacked using Startrails software. Thanks for any

Perfect! This is gorgeous!

I really love this photo Gail!  It is like a tiny little world...a wonderland. You definitely gave it the perfect title. I do think a bit more dof would have improved the image a little by making the yellow part of the flower sharper. It isn't a deal breaker for me though and I do like the softness in the background. So pretty! I wish I would have taken this photo.

That is really cool!  So does the helicopter have a built in camera?  Surely you wouldn't attach your Canon and send it up :).

It is straight out of the camera. I ripped the stem from the flower, that is why there is a hole in the center.  The tall part of the iris flower (I have no clue what it is called) came out with the stem and what you see is what was left. I did disfigure the flower but I got the image that I wanted.

Thank you Tony.  I had to wait a good twenty minutes for the bridge and background to be clear of people so I had a lot of time to think about how I was going to compose the image.  I like your idea too.
