I love the expression on the child, I think you made a connection! That eyebrow!
The interesting context and background makes me want to know more. This might be a nice part of a larger series. Great work!
The only real "critique" I have is that my preference is to usually shoot people at their eye level.
So if all else was the same: kid, bucket, wood, ground - but you crouched down for the shot - in addition to what's already great about the shot you would get a hint at the subject's view of the world.

let the extremely negative ratings of this image not dissuade you from becoming curious about WHPK.

(OLD COMMENT) you know it's funny. when i first uploaded this batch of images i was purely doing it to learn about the process. (i didn't even know what a jpg was a year ago) i wanted to see what the pix looked like from different screens. then i started getting these negative ratings and it did kind of bug me. recently, i saw an image get a three point something and i was quite proud of myself until i had realized photonet had changed the top rank from a five to a ten! oh well . . . . .
-
and wouldn't you know it . . . of all the photos i just uploaded to photonet, this is the one i altered. there used to be a little white line from a passing plane in the top right corner.

(OLD COMMENT) i have been sucking up a bunch of different pix into photonet to be able to learn about the process and see the images on different monitors. i am new to the internet and only recently bought a scanner. so i really appreciate feedback. especially negative comments on technical matters. seriously! my first lesson was that my monitor wasn't callibrated. so lay it on: could you be more specific on why the photo doesn't look good to you. lay it on!
