  1. Thank you for all the answers.

Basically there are only three solutions:

    - 300mm + 1.4 TC (possibly the Pentax DA* 300mm f/4)

    - The old Sigma 50-500mm Bigma

    - The new Sigma 150-500mm HSD but I don't thinks it is available for Pentax right now.

It seems to that the first option is lighter to carry but the last two have the extra reach I would probably need.

Should I wait for the Pentax mount of the new 150-500? What do you think ?

  2. Apparently Tamron dos not make the 200-500mm F/5-6.3 for Pentax.

Is there a way to mount such zoom on a Pentax K10D?

...maybe using some kind of Adaptall adapter? Does anyone has any experience/information about this?

If I wanted a lens about 500mm long for my K10D, what are the alternatives?

Thank you! Any comment is appreciated.

  3. I bought a digital camera less than two week ago and joined PN just recently.

I requested critics on three for my pictures and I got some good and some

bad rated. That's ok. But I never saw one of my pictures among the Top Ranked.

even if some of the top pictures had lower scores than mines. For example,

I requested a critique for a picture yesterday (the one with Ice on leaves) in

the Nature category and it had 11 ratings, with a mean Aesthetics: 5.64 and

Originality: 5.55 overall. Among the eleven, 6 raters were anonymous and they

gave an average score of 5.50 for Aesthetics, and 5.17 for Originality.

But I could not find my picture in the Top Ranked Photographs and I looked in

all pages setting "All ratings" and used the timeframe of 3 days.

I thought 5 scores would be enough to be listed at least in the last pages.

    Did I miss something?

... and ok ok I agree... I am just looking for some personal "rewards" and see my

picture on the 10th page of the best ranked pictures. I'll get over it... :)

    Thanks

    Stefano L.
