1.
Hi All, I have purchased a used 28-135mm from ebay.co.uk which is delivered today. It costs me £180 including delivery. Overall the lens look fine except one problem. When I face the lens downwards it expands to its maximum zoom. It looks like the wide focus ring is loose. Is it normal behaviour or the lens should not expand when I face it downward. Please suggest

 2.
Very useful information so far . Really appreciate you all.
I have tried the technique of masking in PS. I have experimented few shots and corrected them. Masking technique looks much much more natural than HDR.

 3.
Hi All,
I have noticed a problem the way I capture my Images, no matter what I do, I am struggling to get a clear and crisp image. The problem basically is in landscape photograph or any scene which contains land and sky or water or sky. I usually focus at the point where the land any sky meet together but after I click I get a image where the land are is too dark and the sky is perfect. Doesn’t help me either with shooting in RAW.
I make sure the light meter is at the middle
If I shoot in overcast day I get a white sky. And If I shoot in golden hours I get a perfect sky but the land is dark.
I am using 500D along with wide lens.
Please put some suggestions for me.

 4.
Hello All,
I have taken this picture on EOS 500D in RAW format. The problem which I do not understand is when I try to do a level adjustment on this image or any curve adjustment and bit of sharpening, then unacceptable amount of noise pop up in the image. Am I doing something wrong with the camera I am doing adjustments in PS and Lightroom
EXIF
F8
ISO 800
17-85 IS USM @85.0mm
Manual
1/200sec
Partial Metering

 5.
Thanks Mitchell,
And Thanks ALL
I believe you caught my problem very right. You are absolutely right. “the camera with "more megapixels" will look worse at 100%.” And yes it is true when I look in a small size image the problem is not at all visible. At some point I was disappointed with the new 500D comparing the 100% magnified snaps with 400D.
I am confused now, why did I purchased the EOS 500D then if the images are more worst than 400D in 100% magnification :(
Thank God I did not sell the 400D.
Also I never use live view to shoot except HD
:(

 6.
Guys,
A few weeks ago I have purchased a very cheap UV filter from ebay(Visico 67mm 67 MC UV MCUV Multi Coated Filter NEW UK) for efs 17-85 lens. I purchased this thinking about my lens will be safe from dust and scratches, however I have noticed that severe Purple fringing occurring when I take photos . Specially if I shoot some tree the thin branches are very prominent with Purple fringing. Is it something to do with the filter I have purchased. Or it is with my camera. The problem is not there when I use the lens in eos 400d with the filter, though I take out the filter it looks like Purple fringing is much more prominent in eos 500d as compared to eos 400d + 17-85mm IS with the filter. Am I missing something in the eos 500d. I feel clue less guys.

Many Thanks.

 7.
Guys guess what,,,
I got the 500d today.Got it on 415£ with 50£ cash back. I am really very happy with the first look of the camera. The photo quality is far far better than my old 400d. I was struggeling to get correct exposure with 400d but with 500d it comes in a single click. Looking into the picture it looks like those even does not need post processing (may be I am very happy now) and WoW WoW with the HD recording. The shutter sund is so different form 400d. The LCD screen is superb. The viewfinder is so comfortable even with spectacles. The 430 EX II works much better with this camera rather than 400d. But only thing which is disappointing is the White Balance which is not working right on Auto settings.
Hats off EOS 500D

 8.
Guys,
I am facing an issue with 430 ex II. It came to my notice that if I use ordinary non rechargeable batteries my flash out put power becomes very less within few clicks. And after that if I continue it looks like my 400D hung up. Though I turn it OFF the green light is lit up unless I pull the battery down. The moment I pull the battery down I can hear the shutter closure sound. Basically I want to know Is there any settings in EOS 400D for external flash . I cannot find any in the menu (Firmware 1.1.1) Am I using wrong battery. I have ordered for Duracell 2650 mAH Ni Mh , will that be okay. Sorry if I sound duff and asking wrong question. Actually I got 430 EX II in Christmas also a lens.
Wish You all a very Marry Christmas . Happy Holidays
