1.
Hi Steven, here is my experience with the 50 f 1,2 for what it’s worth. There's no doubt that this lens is just fantastic. I use the 50mm 1.2 extensively for my low light street photography and have in fact no issues what so ever other than human error... And yes - it takes skill to use this lens, it is not for the occasional point & shooter. Focusing is challenging and the DOF is extremely shallow at 1.2. I read volumes on this lens before buying it and quiet frankly I am amazed at how some people have given it the thumbs down. Although I am using the glass only on a 40D with the smaller sensor it seems to be well paired to. The quality of some of my shots is, I would say, the best I've ever done under extreme low light conditions. I'm perhaps a bit over-excited about this lens but it really is the best thing I've done for my kind of photography. My only tip is you must really consider the extreme shallow DOF when wide open and also to (re)learn how to focus with this glass. If you are not extremely careful how and where to place the focus point you end up with ‘randomly’ back or front focus shots. The discipline this lens requires from the shooter is evident but at the end of the day it pays out. That's why I can only recommend this lens but it needs a ‘learning curve’ for top results…:) - at least in the genre I shoot.

 2.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of David Orea and like to express my sincere condolences. Although we have never met personally we were regular correspondents and I know that he was a respected member in the PN community and his own profession. My deepest sympathies are with his family.

 3. Thank you Rita for bringing the issue to my/ our attention. Indeed, they fiddle around with a few of my PN submissions - as some other sites do. Fact is, I am not qualified or experienced enough to undertake the necessary steps, legal and otherwise, to protect my postings now or in future. I also see in the comments here above no direct remedy to stop the offence. I guess, it's the risk you take if you post on the web. However, I am interested to hear more from Bob about how and what is a DMCA complaint - just for my better understanding.
