  1. I have shot wedding pictures before but never had this problem. Shot a whole

wedding with a canon 20D and got this poor result which is more noticeable in

black areas as in groom's tux.

the problem is that most black areas (tuxedos) come out with a strong

pixelation problem. I suspect the problem for shooting with ISO400 but Im not

    sure it is the problem.

    maybe camera settings?

    thanks for any comments.

  2. Hi!

I have a similar issue. My 550 was mounted on a stand, firing as a slave with the infrared trigger. after a few shots it just stood there in the dark. it stopped firing at all. I tried on camera (both, an A2 and a 20D), with the IR trigger and the test button. I tried all flash modes and even removing and re-inserting batteries. All with the same result.

... what was the cost to repair yours?

  3. I have the same setup and the same problem, but I found a solution.

Checkout the custom functions for the one about "metering" (I think it is CF12). I use "Average" instead of "Evaluative". dont explain me why, but it seems that with the 550EX speedlite this solved all the problems, especially indoors.

    good luck

  4. .. just one more thing... there is no proimage in 7-eleven's...

    :)

by the way! congratulations on your trip! I have heard italy is fantastic for photographs!!

  5. I might be mistaken but I think you might not be going in the right direction. Im not sure that b/w film is cheaper, but, at least where I live (Mexico) processing and printing is 2 or 3 times more expensive than color film. B/W is all done by hand and all color processing is automated, there the costs.

If you are doing all the work yourself, Im not sure it will save you any money either, since you have to buy at least chemicals and paper to process and print your film, granted you have access to a develping and printing laboratory...

if it is costs... try a professional source and buy bulk (for example get a 5-roll package of professional color film from B&H) it has sometimes better/lower price than the kodak ultra you get at a 7-eleven.

    just one quick note:

down here (mexico) a roll of kodak ultra 36exp goes around 5.00 - 6.00USD from a 7-eleven, and a 5 roll package of kodak proimage 36exp per roll goes for 10.00USD. you do the math.

    my two cents...

then again, as I said in the begining... I might be wrong....
