Thanks Jo. It has been a while since I last browsed around on Photo.net. Good memories.

Thanks so much Daniel and Leslie. It's been a while since I was on here, I think I should hang around more often. :)

I love the tones and colors in this shot. I appreciate the fact that there are three trees, as opposed to any other number of prominent trees. I do have a vague feeling of something not being quite as good as it could. Is it that there could be a stronger subject to hold the focus? Is it that the dominant trees should be composed closer to the left, or to the right of the shot? I'm not sure, but I still really like the image. Thanks for sharing!

No wonder the ancients worshiped fire! It is beautiful and dangerous
all in one, both life nurturing and life taking, both mystical and
easily understood. Mesmerizing!

Hi there Wiley. I like the subject and moment of the photo, and the documentary feel of all the photos in your portfolio, but I find them all too dark. If this is deliberate, you might try to find some highlights to make the picture "pop". I do think they would be better slightly more exposed though. If this is not deliberate, you may want to check your monitor, or check the colour space you are working in.

I dropped the clarity a little in Lightroom. It was a smoggy day in
the mountains here on Formosa, and the sun was different .... strikes
me as being similar to an ancient Chinese Painting.
-
By the way - I forgot to mention that when viewed larger, much more detail is visible. :))

Chinese city on midnight of Chinese New Year - only one firework
captured lol. Very smoggy, at least 70% of the city was obscured from
view.

Thanks Donald! Thanks for stopping by.

Very creative angle and close up of a water drop. I also love the light and the highlights, and the black and white conversion works well too. One slight comment - is it cropped severely? It seems a little noisy. But that is a small issue - overall it is a very unique shot - I love it!

Hi John. On first glance, the composition of the pic really stands out strongly. And that initial impression stays. But two little things might make it even stronger (maybe lol). The foreground feels a little too bright, and the sky seems quite noisy. But overall, the black and white choice along with the composition will make this a keeper in my mind...

Gabriel - this is an excellent portrait in my opinion. The light is strong from the left, but the right of his face is still shown with good detail. And then the sense of him looking far away, added to that the character in your subject's face... and of course the good use of black and white. Very good.

My daughter preparing to catch a frisbee, shot a few years ago, only
remembered to submit for critique today. Comments welcome.

Sagnik - this is a wonderful photo. It needs to be viewed large to be truly appreciated! I like a few things. I like the way the woman on the left seems to be looking at the man next to her, fondly almost. I like the head angle of the woman at the back right and the way she is looking at the camera. I just wish I could see more of the woman and child's faces at the front right.
This looks like a group of friends that I would like to know. Lovely shot.
