Just wanted to share a recent short film of a wedding I recently did using the new 12mm Olympus, 4/3 25mm 1.4 (the older one, which is gorgeous), 57mm hexanon, 85 Rokinon.
Thoughts?
12mm performed AF VERY WELL - continuously AF almost telepathically and handled flare VERY well.

Thanks all

Here's the "final" album. It's never done. Emailing them now, hopefully they like. Though I think I got TOO ADDICTED to NIK PLUG INS. Generous 15 day trial without watermarks and exporting allowed. Now I'm going to have to buy them all or win a contest they have on mu43. com hopefully with one of these LOL.

Hopefully the album isn't too fruity. Got addicted to the two color ND filters too much, but better than blank sky and bland pavement I guess.

Did a photoshoot for a makeover giveaway - 57mm Hexanon 1.4/135mm Canon F2

Leave some comments and let me know what you think. It was back and forth through a few locations and had to shoot video as well, so had to stay mobile with two flashes and a portable softbox. I'll post the video up next week sometime.

LOL - Lightroom 3 wouldn't do any video. The New FCPX may do AVCHD (will convert in the background I think while you edit the native IIRC) - but hold off on that until they patch it.

-

AVCHD can be converted by most pro editing software like FCP and Adobe Premier does it natively. Most plugins for conversion are free and do multiple codecs - ie Mpeg Streamclip, Visual Hub etc.

Thanks - was worried about the audio, speakers didn't have an output and got caught off guard for a speech. Just put a recorder near a speaker, but at least it's legible.
IMO, not that I've tried every 50+ mm lens, but must say, out of all the budget 50mm 1.4s out there (excluding the pricey 1.2s) I think I've found the best in the Hexanon 57mm. Exeded my expectations considering I hated the 40mm so I was expecting it to be similar but alas, 1000 times better than the 40mm. Now I'm curious about the 57mm 1.2 but not sure if that's really worth $400 more.

Thanks all

Andrew: For stills it will vignette heavily since the ETC mode (zooming in by using the middle portion of the sensor) is mainly for video. The Gh2 does have it for photo, but that crops off megapixels so you'd be better off staying at 16mp and cropping in post. But really for photo I don't think it would compete as well with the 7-14 (video is only 2mp so it stays at 1080P and makes more sense to try this for video IMO).

Sanford: Philadelphia

For the video people out there (but can take photos with modded C Mounts too, most will vignette)

I do video and photo

psynema.com

facebook.com/psynema

Thanks, but I'm not talking about cropping, just printing the larger ones, what everyone's minimum print standard is - ie - if it looks bad at (18 by 24, 11/14, a2, 8/10 etc) whether they toss it or not.

-

Just curious
What images do you consider safe to deliver shot at a high ISO or soft focus for what paper size. Do you want every print to be noise free/tack sharp up to 36 inch prints? Or do you deliver anything on a CD that prints clean/sharp up to a2 or 8 by 10 size?

Just want a poll as to what everyone's size/sharpness/grain standard is.

I have the Rokinon 85mm 1.4 which I heard is the same exact lens Bower, Vivitar, Samyang use. It's available in all mounts from Rokinon and limited mounts for Vivitar.

Very low light, 1600 mostly ISO. Photos taken of the food for better lighting/scale factor. Thoughts? This is with the GH1 hack by Tester 13.

Also took a few photos not in the video
No strobe handy, just the external flash and a Fong-0-Shere

Anyone every try these on a four thirds body?

Curious if there's any vignetting? Good quality for the price? Not sure how much ebay auctions would wind up

I got the lumix mainly because I wanted somethingn small and can pretty much carry on me at all times - it's a nice way to stand out at events you're not hired at and pass out cards and network. Big enough for people to notice you're a photographer if they need one, small enough to not get kicked out by security.
