1.
Hi, I wonder if somebody could explain to me the resolution an image size should be set at for different print sizes. I rarely print my images so it is a bit of a grey area for me. I know the usual settings for 300dpi for print and 72dpi for web use, but what would i set it to for larger prints and how big could i go from the K-5 without losing quality. I have had a few people ask for prints of some of my work but am reluctant to do so until I i can get the best quality print. Any information would be appreciated, many thanks.

 2.
That is a lot of actuations, I would wait for one with fewer. Like someone mentioned earlier as soon as the D700 replacement arrives more of the used D700 will appear, probably with a lot less use than the one you mention as had.

 3.
Thank you for all your advice I appreciate the time you have taken to help me. After reading your responses, I am begining to think that it might not be a good idea to attempt this wedding. I have only just got the 5D and need to get used to it a lot more yet. I dont have the experience of flash photography and am lacking equipment. I am more used to the relaxed approach of landscape photography, being able to take my time. Without some proffessional guidance I would possibly be out of my depth. Joey that was brutally honest but I appreciate it. Ive no doubt that if I attempted it I would get results but at the same time I would like to be more confident. So I think I will study a little more and practice.

 4.
Hi Vail, the proposed date is April 2013. Hi Richard, that is what i was thinking. I have just met a chap who may be interested in forming a partnership. He has shot a few weddings and also shoots Canon equipment. He also tells me that he has access to lenses and lighting from the Uni he his studying at

 5.
I posted this late last night and I didnt realise there was a specific wedding forum, my appologies. I dont use flash photography so it is something I would need to grasp. By on board flash i actually did mean a speedlight, i know the 5d does not have a pop up. I would not attempt a wedding without the correct equipment, so your answers are very helpfull. at the moment it is all sounding a little daunting. I thought about using the programmemode on my 5D as the auto in aperture mode doesnt seem to set high enough in a dimmly lit situation. (but that could be down to me not fully understanding my camera.) I will read the wedding forum, maybe there is a course I could attend to gain a better understand of wedding photography.

 6.
I have been asked to shoot a few weddings and I usually turn them down, ive decided to give them a go. I currently have a 5D mk ii with a 17-40mm lens. I was thinking of adding the 70-200mm f/4 usm (non stabilised) and the 50mm 1.8 to shoot the day. I would consider hiring the 24-70mm 2.8. Will the f/4 lenses be fast enough without flash inside? I also wont have a back up body it will cost me too much. I have also read that alot of weddings are shot without the onboard flash, is this the route to go down. I am more at home shooting landscapes so it is a bit of a challenge for me, any help or advice would great.

 7.
I am getting a 5D Mk ii tomorrow and I have some Nikon AIS lenses that I might use with an adaptor. I have heard that some lenses can damage the mirror in the 5D. I currently own a 50mm 1.4 AIS, 55mm 2.8 micro AIS, 105mm 2.5 AIS, 75-150mm 3.5 AIS, 80-200mm f/4 AIS and a Samyang 14mm 2.8 (nikon fit.) Does anybody know if these lenses could cause damage? Or should I just avoid it, sell my Nikon system including D90 and put it towards Canon lenses. I might be wrong but does mounting such adaptors also effect the lens focus distance by moving it away from the focal plane? Thanks in advance.

 8.
I have the D90 and am very pleased with it. I would love a D700 too. If I could afford I would keep the D90 and get the D700, they share the same battery and that way your long lenses would remain long on DX and your wide lenses will remain wide on FX. You will also have a lighter outfit in the DX. That is if you are made of money, unlike me. If you want to dabble with primes why dont you buy some Nikkor AIS lenses used. I have the 105mm 2.5, 50mm 1.4, 55mm 2.8 micro, as well as the 80-200mm f/4, 75-150mm 3.5 e series, I bought all these lenses for under £600. I used to have a vivitar 19mm 3.5 ais that I just sold for a Samyang 14mm. I dont own any AF lenses and have to shoot everything manualy but for the cost the quality of these lenses are superb.

 9.
I was wondering if anybody can provide me with a bit of information on extension tubes? I want to find out which lenses work best for macro with the tubes. Which lenses are compatible with the tubes?, I understand that the new G type nikon lenses dont work with tubes due to the lack of an aperture ring? I currently own a Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX, Nikon 50mm 1.8, Nikon 85mm 1.8 and a D90 body. I want to know if these lenses will work well with the tubes or if I should buy the Tokina 100mm macro for use with the tubes. Also which tubes work best, Nikons own or the Kenko tubes. I know that the tubes do not contain optics but I worry which will support functions of the lenses. If anybody could recommend a route to go down and attach some examples of your set up with the mentioned D90 and lens options it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 10.
I did have the Tokina 12-24mm with my D200, it was sharp but the CA's put me off buying it again. I agree with what you are saying about the wideness, I dont need 8mm. Id like to keep it Nikon if im being honest. The Nikon 10-24mm may be the way to go, but ive read some reports saying for the money its notup to scratch?

 11.
I am looking for an ultra wide angle lens for my D90. I have been looking at Nikon's 12-24mm and 10-24mm, Sigma's 10-20mm and 8-16mm also the Tokina 11-16mm. Problem is I cannot decide which to go for. I dont mind the fact that the Sigma 8-16mm cant take filters. Anybody have any recomendations as to which to opt for? Will be used 99% of the time for landscapes. Thank in advance.

 12.
I also agree with Peter and the others, the DX 35mm 1.8 is a good lens and pretty cheap, That will behave more as a standard lens, (if thats what you are after). I also use it on the D90. The 50mm range on a DX is pretty good for portraits.
