I couldn't agree more with the first response and let the pro do his job. If your reallyclever you can get some great shots
without interfering. Think extra rather than back up!

These competitions should be shut down!
It's exploitative of all photographers and a cheap trick to build a comletely free
picture library saving them thousands!
Is there anything we can do about it?
Probably not but I'm going to look into it.

I understand your frustration. It's a hard living to make and you are right in that it's not made easier when anybody
professional or not are happy to give away their images that otherwise would have to be paid for. Unfortunately in this
case it's something you may have to just accept and move on. Everybody has to start somewhere and your friend won't be
in the industry long if she doesn't start charging. Good clients will always pay for good work so don't ever feel your work is
worthless no matter what others might say.

Hi Josh
I guess you've already done the right thing and taken the engagement
shoot pictures down as requested and from now on you'll notify the
clients first before anything goes live on your website or blog in the
future. I know that it hurts when your asked to take down photographs
that you are proud off but there will be plenty more engagement and
wedding shoots In the future. Best just to save yourself a lot of bother
and always put the client first.

RAW all the way. You can't afford to miss the push/pull power of shooting in RAW with weddings; and any other occasion when conditions can be difficult and you get just one chance!

Quite shocked by some of the responses to this discussion. I personally would never recommend or even direct enquiries
to another photographer I don't know would provide the same service and results as I would myself. It's incredibaly
unprofessional to be approached in this way and I don't spend a lot of time and money on my marketing to just give away
my leads to somebody else. It wouldn't happen in any other profession so why photography? Are some of the post here
defending this approach from those who don't see photography as a career or profession I wonder!
It's very cheeky and slightly disrespectful.
