Definitely color the version of this photo. Maybe crop some more off the top? The darkening of the top right hasn't quite balanced the image in relation to the bottom left.
  1. This is an excellent photo but when looking at it feels like that there is something missing. Part of what is missing is some shadow detail. Strong blocked shadows are great for creating shapes but the water is already doing that. The detail would give texture to contrast with the water. Also your image doesn't have any true whites, which unlike the shadow detail you can actually fix.

Consider popping open PS and via the levels tool give it some true whites man.

    Great photo =D

    fascinating and nice capture!

Consider darking the mid tones via levels tools to pull some of that white out of the trunks to make the is pop even more, maybe a littler sharpening to contrast the smoothness of the ice more as well.

    well composed and exposed

I've seen a fair number of shots like this, but this definitely one of the better ones I've seen. The ray of light and composition really just gives it the edge above the other ones.

    Tracks are yours or others?

    YAWN!!!!

There is nothing really constructive to say for this photo. It is excellently shot both in process and composition. Continue to explore this man, it's awesome and works well for you =D

    Decently done cactus photo.

It's a photo most people will have seen its kind before with nothing to set it apart from other likes.

underexposed? Use some post processing to bring the whites out. Perhaps crop a little more off the right to give a true square. Slightly jarring otherwise to me, but may not do that to others.

what are the ISO aperture, and shutter speeds you were using? was the shot hand held?

Also be wary of comparing the kit lens for the 40D to shots taken with L glass.

You have very small, very sharp dof in this image; cause the the areas out of the focus to become distracting. While multiple layers can often contribute to a photo, having them take up so much of the image damages the composition in this image.

There's a good shot somewhere in there play with man =D

  2. Whip out that blur tool and try to remove the texturing that the sharpening has done

Also file presented has some serious .jpeg artifacting.

Good composition and colors though, just some post processing touch ups.
