I just bought to PW Plus II's and am having difficulty getting them to fire my 580EX II strobe. I've got one PW on my

camera (Digital Rebel XTi) hotshoe, and the other connected to my strobe with a cable in the side screw-in port

(anyone know the proper name please?).

I understand from some online posts I've read that the flash should not be set in Manual-Master mode, as this

disables the port. I've tried it on ETTL mode, Manual [off], Manual [master], and manual [slave], and none seem to

work. The flash continues to fire when either PW "test" button is pressed, but wit will not fire when I press the

camera's shutter release.

The flash is clearly getting the signal through the cable, so I doubt it would be any different with a hotshoe

connection. Also, the flash fires when on my camera's hotshoe, so I know the hotshoe is delivering the signal.

What a mystery!

Any help would be much aprpeciated!

I am planning a trip to Italy - Tuscany region, then Rome then back to Venice -

in August/September. I'm concerned about having enough storage for my photos

while on the road.

What are the best options for downloading/saving files to free up card space

while traveling? I'm hoping not to have to carry a laptop.
