Thank you, Ashley and Mike. Have a great week.

Thank you, Ashley. I would like to keep them in my portfolio but no longer want them critiqued. Any other suggestions?

Please can someone tell me how to delete pictures from my "request critique" section.
Thanks...Lawrence

I use the 24-105....EXCELLENT lens...lacks a little on the wide side. You will get tremendous results. I can highly recommend it. Don't cut back spending on a good filter for it.

Thank you Tom and Stephen. EXCELLENT point, Stephen.

This is directed at Josh - or anyone else who can satisfy my curiosity. Is there any particular reason that PN does
not allow reciprical ratings of 7's for 14 days if a fellow PN member has awarded your shot with 7's?
Thanks...Paiken

A good protective filter can cost around $125.00. Make you own conclusion - replace a scratched protective filter, or go out and buy a new lense for hundreds of $'s because you never had a protective filter protecting your lens.

Thank you, Amber.

Is anyone experiencing difficulty adding a photo to there portfolio...or is it just me?

Sigma do make good lenses - so I was told. I bought 2 of them, my original lenses. My results were terrible. I found that there was no consistency in the focussing. Upon research, I discovered that the lenses can be calibrated to the camera (Canon XSI). I never had the callibration done, but insterad went out and bought Canon lenses. Immense difference. I will never again buy anything other than Canon lenses (for as long as I shoot with Canon)

Thank you both so very much. Appreciate you time and valuable in-put.

PLEASE could someone help with a guideline (shutter speed and f-stop) to get results when photographing running
water in order to achieve the soft "cotton wool effect". Thanks so much, Lawrence

Hi Max
When you get to SA, call a friend of mine. His name is Trevor. Just dial 826-5811. He runs a lab just outside of JHB in a town called Boksburg. He may be able to help you. I wish i could help further, but I left SA 15 years ago. PLEASE...be safe and have a safe return to where-ever you are from. I would suggest you stay in a hotel in a area called Rosebank. It is in the centre of a awesome shopping centre. you will also find a few labs in the centre. Great safe hotels, wide variety of awesome eating places, a great flea market every Sunday morning. Best wishes, Lawrence

Hi Alfonso. Both pictures of the flower were taken within 10 minutes of each other. In shade on a sunny day. ISO 200, spot metering, 125/sec at f-11. Yes, the lens did "hunt" for focus. Thanks for the response.

Okay, Steve...here's an example. I take a picture of a subject - a flower for example. Its very sharp. I then take some shots of different subjects, go back to the same flower with the same camera settings, same lighting etc, and it's not as sharp as the original flower shot. I'm not asking the camera to do the work - I'm trying to understand if there is a problem with my lenses!

HELP---PLEASE!
I am using a Canon XSI (great camera). Both my Sigma lenses are not giving me
the perfect sharpness that I am looking for everytime I take pictures. I have not
found that the XSI is any worse on sharpness than the previous XTI that I owned.
Please can someone with more exreience on lenses give me some input on
Sigma lenses.
Thanks, Lawrence

on my site. Thanks,Lawrence

Thank you, Ellis and Andrew - reason why i asked is because I treid it and the results were really poor, and i thought I was doing it all wrong. However, you have all indicated that it just does not work. Much appreciated, Lawrence
