1. Thanks for the feedback folks! Will keep an eye out.
 2. Hey all! Just wanted to follow up. I've put a handful of rolls through the Mamiya and am really pleased with the camera. Thanks for all of the replies!
 3. Hey all! I'm been looking for a good H1 or GX645. I am having a hard time finding kits with film backs (or even just film backs on their own for that matter). Not sure what's up with that. Would appreciate any tips on where I might find such a thing but also curious to know if this is a symptom of some issue using the camera with film? Did folks just pretty much go digital only? All the best, Andrew
 4. @glen_h and @rodeo_joe|1 @peter_fowler Thank you all so much for the replies. I'll shoot a test and let you know :) Best, Andrew
 5. Hey all! A friend called an offered me some expired film. I've never shot expired slide before. This stuff wasn't in the fridge and it's pretty old. Think it's still worth shooting? If so, would you underrate it by like 2 stops or something? Best, Andrew
 6. @rodeo_joe|1 Thanks for the info! Yea my example is working really nicely. Having shot a couple rolls at 1.9 I can say that the focus is on point. I have read about the mirror-rests. If I should have that issue or others in the future... who in the US works on these guys?
 7. Thanks for the quick reply Giovanni! I've read a lot of good things about the 110 and have been pretty tempted. Do you think it would feel a bit redundant with the 80/1.9? I've read pretty mixed reviews of the 150/3.5 but also considering that as it's cheaper and smaller than the 150/2.8 or 210/4. I have heard the tele's are great but longer than 210 doesn't super interest me. I've never really owned anything longer than 135 on 35mm (never felt the urge) and I did in part choose the 645 for it's relatively compact size. All the best, Andrew
 8. Hey all! I just picked up a Mamiya 645 Pro TL. Really enjoying it so far. My kit came with: 645 Pro TL body + back 80mm 1.9 AE prism finder FE401 WG402 winder grip As well as: Waist level finder Manual winder knob I had a few questions I was hoping you all might help answer: 1. LENSES What other lenses would you recommend getting? I've been thinking about the 35/3.5, and either the 150/2.8 or the 210/4 but open to others. 2. FINDER MAGNIFICATION I find the AE prism to have relatively low magnification. Are there any "elegant" magnifiers for this finder or just the FD701? Does the sport prism finder have a higher magnification? Thanks so much for all of your help folks!
 9.
So @gus and folks... It seems to me like the focus may be a bit off and perhaps there is a slight issue with the shutter (there is a faint glow in the bottom right corner of some images and one had a strange glow in the middle).
I've attached a gallery for reference. The images are shot on tri-x 400 at 1600 developed in D76.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8ERdMtAD9tbUGNHeG9za2o5WXc&usp=sharing

The sequence of the room are f/2 1/1000, f/2.8 1/500, f/4 1/250, f/5.6 etc).

What do you guys think?

 10.
Chuck, does that make it worth more money? ;)

 11.
Thanks for the response Gus. The camera seems to be in great shape. Smooth, quiet, RF is crisp and I got it for a pretty solid price (about $500 usd). Should I be concerned by this obscure stamp?

Andrew

 12.
Just wondering if you guys know who does a triangle imprint in the wax seal? I just got an M3 from KEH and it has this seemingly undocumented notation. If you know who it is... what's their reputation?

More pictures of the emblem here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8ERdMtAD9tbeDZmUzhZUlcxUTA&usp=sharing

Best,
Andrew

 13.
David, I feel like I have too but I tried today and they told me they don't do that.

 14.
Hey guys,

I've had an M2 for a while now and I've been thinking of getting an M3 (my eyes aren't great and I mostly use my 50mm) and don't want to spend too too much money. I don't mind the idea of scrapes, big dents might bug me a bit but there's no way of getting any specific info on the camera that you'd get. Just wondering if you guys have any thoughts on buying one in bgn condition from KEH?

Best,
Andrew

 15.
Shot this in downtown Pittsburgh. The old IBM building.

 16.
I don't know if the M-60 is any thinner but it certainly doesn't feel any thinner. I really do love it though. It's not just about not being able to see your pictures it's about not having all the digital stuff to fiddle with. I wish more cameras could be this simple and manual in the digital age.

 17.
Here is a link to a gallery of images. Hard to shoot through the eye piece but it's largely at the bottom edge of the vf. Shooting the focusing screen gives you a slightly less sever image than what is seen in the eye piece. Removing the focusing screen you see the problem.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8ERdMtAD9tbTE4xNHR2dE9OeDg&usp=sharing

 18.
I'm using an adjustable one from our woodshop but it won't spin.

 19.
Hey guys,

I just got an OM-1. The black foam on the prism is clearly deteriorated and needs to be cleaned up. I found a great youtube video by fixoldcameras on how to do this but I'm really failing at the first step (removing the decorative plate from on top of the rewind lever. I'm hoping for some suggestions or tips or recommendations of good affordable places to send it off (zuiko.com has a 12 week wait and charges a minimum of more than twice what I paid for the camera).

Any help is appreciated!

Best,
Andrew

 20.
Bill, I'll consider that. Really would improve the CL experience.

 21.
Bill that's a super solid mod. Wish I had known about that. How much does DAG charge for that?

 22.
btw... I'm like 95% sure it's a Russian made fake.

 23.
I'm included to say it's fake.
Can you provide some more pictures of:

1. The range finder cam inside the lens mount on the top of the cavity
2. The base plate
3. The full top of the camera

If you can please shoot these in a bright room without harsh flash!

Best,
Andrew

 24.
If it's real it looks like a Leica II. It's possible it was a Leica I converted to a Leica II, this was something Leica did at the factory. I've seen a few of these, they're pretty fun!

 25.
I just bought a Leitz Minolta CL. They were made for longer than the Leica CL and usually cost less even though they are totally identical. The one I got (a late serial number) had a semi-functional meter, very stiff operation, and a take up spool that cracked when I tried to run a test roll through it (this was supposedly fixed at some point later on). Sent it to DAG for an overhaul and take up spool replacement. 6 weeks and $220 + shipping both ways and it's working great and using modern batteries! It's cute and small and the 40mm is great but the CL is just not the best. Much harder to precisely focus than my M2 (probably because of the short base rangefinder). The view finder is very busy. The meter isn't the most intuitive of Leica's cameras.

Not sure about the advance leaver, thought I would suspect the answer is no. The film advance lever has a little foot that rests on the body when the leaver is in the closed position. Happy to answer any other questions if I can!

Best,
Andrew
