1.
When I am on the job it's on. When I'm off the job and it's in the bag it's off. That way there is no possible way it can be pressed by the bag or what-ever and continue to cycle on and off, on and off, running down the battery. The manual , with good sense, asks you to shut down for card swaps and lens changes to avoid miss pin matches and possible connection shorts. The BEST reason for turning it off is when you power up again - my D300 auto cleans my sensor every time. Sweet!

  2. I requested for critique "The Coy Pond" by Bill McCrystyn under

catagory "nature". It showed up and was doing well as far as response. I

recieved one comment as to the spelling of "Coy" and corrected my error by edit

to "The Koi Pond". I checked later to see how it was doing and can't find the

picture in any que or query? It is still in my porfolio but otherwise MIA.

Bummer, it was doing so well and I was curious just to see how it would do over

3 days. What happened? Bill McCrystyn / dawizard1@sbcglobal.net

  3. Thanks guys. John, I tried your method as it seemed appropriate for what I was wanting to do but could not activate the "stroke" mode without first expanding the canvas size with the cropping tool and then magic wanding the expanded area which unfortunatly picked up all the white in the pic aside from the expanded border. Apparently I am not as smart as you guys are giving me credit for. Could you try to explain this method as in "surround 101 for dummies". Thanks, Bill
