Very nice image Monte, not that the other isn't, but the slight wing tip blur on this one really gives a nice motion to the flight and the BG is awesome.I would remove the little poo specs and maybe brighten the eye up a little as that would really stand out. A seeable eye with those talons and beak would make this shot exceptional. Nice job.

Hey Chris, thanks for the comment on my gallery. Of course that made me look at yours. Nice porfolio over all. Opposite end of the world from mine. This one really struck me. Not cliche and not too hard. It kept me looking with the bridge to anchor it and the flag is a nice touch.

Nice shot Monte. Good angle and head turn. Nice to see a white Osprey instead of yellow. It looks like (which was a good idea) you filter soften the background a bit much and left that glow effect I get on mine sometime if I don't clone it out. You may need to chase your edges near the bottom right wing tip with your clone brush to finish it. By the way I will be getting a 200-400 next month. You may be seeing more of me. If your interested in selling one, let me know.

Very impressed with ISO 200 low noise good DR choice still leaving plenty of shutter. Great resolution wide open even on a big crop.

Nice shot Monte. I would try to place him coming into rather than out of the frame. The chest could use a little knock down. Good DOF and AF. Good frame.

Yes, there wasn't as much to get there as I thought perhaps. I have noticed in the past you use S-RGB and I wonder if you ever tried Adobe RGB. It has a little wider pallete. Some pros do use S-RGB to get a little more contrast for JPEG but I focus on prints so all my work is Adobe RGB. Most pro's shoot RAW and I prefer to shoot 36mb Tif. files. It saves me one step. Everybody's got there thing.

I was thinking Monte cloning all that OOF grass/brush stuff out of the scene would leave you a really pretty picture. That stuff is ugly and distracting to such a nice shot.

Gotta give ya this one Monte. As with others though the color balance seems a little off. There seems to be a hard yellow cast. You might wanna color balance to blue about 40-50 points. Nice shot man.

That's close enough Monte. You got all the feather detail and shadows too. I would clean up the eye as it adds nothing and is distracting. Your BG is good but I would knock it down just a wee bit more to showcase the great shot. Really like it. Nice going. Were you wearing you pelican camo suit again? :)

Nice image Niel. Your whites are correctly exposed and hold detail. The open mouth and eyes are well done. I only wish you could have got the whole bird in the frame. A little photoshop work would fix that.

No argument with the bird, you maxed that out well. I would try letting go of the vignetting and move the bird slightly lower and to the right to get the feeling of speed instead and then use the median filter to calm down the background. Is that Hwy 1? :)

NIce job Leroy. I find it very difficult to get that close. The wing blur is perfect and the tongue and catch light are a bonus. I've seen these guys display that throat color before and I think you could saturate just a little more and get added punch. Congrat's!
