    Thanks for all the help. I found that it didn't take long after I posted the note to fall back into composing through the viewfinder. I guess I'd been away from a "real" camera for far too long. And yes, I love the sound of the motor drive on CSI's Nikons.

    I just bought this camera and after searching just about everywhere I can't

    seem to find the answer to this question: can I compose on the lcd monitor

    BEFORE I take a photo? Or do I have to do it all in the view finder, ala 1967?

    This answer will make a difference in whether or not I take it back to where I

    bought it and swap it out for the Rebel XT.
