  1. The Manfrotto is no more than four years old. Every leg clamp has been replaced (at about half the cost of the new tripod) and finally the centre column clamp has broken. It has been regularly used in sea water which probably accounts for the problems. On the plus side the spares have arrived very quicky and the repairs have been fairly simple to carry out.
  2. Last week I took delivery of a Gitzo Mountaineer carbon tripod to replace a Manfrotto carbon which had finally worn out (the magnesium castings seem to crack as they get older). The Manfrotto was good but the Gitzo is an absolute joy to use. Every thing about it says quality and it even smells good!
  3. I am very grateful to Botikario for contacting me to point out that my

image 'Diamonds Aren't Forever...' has migrated to the portfolio of Barat Ali Batoor

    to become 'Paradise 03' http://www.photo.net/photo/7111707

I would suggest checking this PF if you have any Patagonian images - one or two

of them look distinctly suspicious to me.

I am very upset by the fact that Mr Batoor didn't even have the decency to

comment or rate the picture before making off with it!
