Can you post them if you don't ruin them?
That is a good price if it works. I really like mine, especially with a Nikkor 50f2.0

I had an XA2, gave it to my son when I moved to SLR. He left it on top of his car and drove off, gone. I later purchased another, an XA and also an XA3. I love them but I don't use them anymore. Sad.

These are beautiful cameras and I have friends that love them. I have a Canon 7 that is working beautifully and it has a new Titanium shutter without wrinkles. It is a heavier than my Leica Barnacks but I really love the sound and precision of the Canons.

Thanks, I will probably send it to Youxin Ye as he has repaired two other Tower/Nicca cameras for me and it is quick turnaround and excellent work. I am waiting for the first roll to come back to judge the camera and the lens before I send it off. I also noticed the small pin like projection where the camera base would take a tripod is also missing. This steadies the roll of film and of course prevents the light from getting to the film. I guess I could insert a small screw 1/4" (assumed) in the hole to keep light out and steady the roll of film ?

The camera is a Tower/Nicca (Barnack copy) and on the top middle is the speed selector. Well the two ring viewfinder glasses for focusing is what I am speaking of. The one closest to the speed dial has a ring on the front of it. I was told if you take off that ring and insert small screwdrivers to turn the glass it would align it correctly. Well the repair man did that and it got closer but he said he would have to take the top off to align it correctly. But I think he broke the frame counter because it is now not working. I got an excuse the screws were too tight and the top wouldn't come off. Really think he didn't want to go further and made an excuse.

If the vertical is off by being higher with the second image of a RF, but the horizonal image is right on how does it affect the zeroing in on the proper focus? I have had the RF camera glass next to the speed selector turned as far as it will go to zero in but it is still off somewhat. I guess take some pictures to test it, correct?

I made a trip to Philly about 3 weeks ago and I also saw many beautiful sites. The Eastern State Prison, Franklin's grave, Liberty Bell, and lastly the Reading RR Market. Loved all of the sites and later I read that two women beat up a woman in front of City Hall. I stayed in a hotel across the street from that building. I saw no plastic bags floating around and the part downtown looked very clean.

I too just received a Canon 7 from a seller in Japan and I am loving it. I am not to sure about the light meter when I compare it with an another light meter but I can get by with it. What I am missing is an attachment to put a light meter. I have seen them on Ebay but there are not many available.
Mine also has a titanium shutter ribbon replacing the SS one and I have read that someone in Japan was repacing them. It has no wrinkles now and it is supposed to stay that way if I don't put my thumbs in it while loading a new roll of film. I have only shot one roll with it but it is great.

There is a dial at the bottom of the speed dial that needs to be set at 2 to get the shutter to sic with the flash. I read this in a manuel. The shutter speed will have the x on it and I think it is either 1/25 or 1/30.
The numer at the bottom speed was there I think to also compensate with the older flashbulbs but electronic flash should be set at 2 as I previously stated.

I have one of these cameras and I found that hand held with 100 ASA film was hard to get good shots. When I tried 400 ASA with this large neg. the pictures came out great. I guess my hands were not steady enough with 100. Try a faster film and the depth of field will be greater. Also looks like you need a lens shade also.

I keep a tag on the envelope of the developed film that shows which camera, lens, as I shoot mostly film nowadays. Have about 5 - 50mm lenses and I love to compare them. As I change from 50mm to 35mm and 90mm it reminds me what is a good shot and what lens I have used.

You can have the best lens or a Russian lens with adapter but if your subject is not a good one what difference does it make? I see people taking pictures of door knobs and submitting them to this forum and others and it floors me as to whether it is good or not. The subject is more important I believe and artistic eye is to pick the subject is also important. Cute babies, beautiful women, mountain scenes, city scenes, street shots, you have to see something good and then ask for evaulations from others. I have submitted photos since March 2008 to another forum and just this week someone thought one was good this week. Yet others develop a style and people judge them and pick their photos as the best for that week. B&W photos are picked more often than color photos as the week's best.

Sad that so many old central Texas towns are being boarded up. People's shopping habits are dying as the old owners are dying also. Kids are moving to the cities and leaving the small towns.

Rick great pictures, I have a 101 that had belonged to my father but the light meter has gone south. I use a Vogitlander clip on meter and a 50f1.4 from an Minolta XE7. I suspect it is the same lens as a Leica R3 and it produces wonderful pictures. I have moved to RF cameras but the 101 is still a favorite.

I purchased on ebay from Cambridge Camera ( NYC ) two adapters. When they arrived they did not work because I assume the thickness was off. When I sent them back in the same package and double wrapped, Cambridge said they only received one. That was BS and I called my credit card company and they credited my account. Watch out who you order them from!!!
What part of the country would a little girl answer so boldly. I think she needs her mouth washed out with soap if she called you a Jerk. I would suspect elders don't mean anything to her.
