What do you think about this one?
Thanks!
-
Probably so. However, there was no room for me to move to the side and get the bottom space in the picture as well. The car was parked in a really narrow little street... I'm glad you like it, thanks!:)

Wonderful. The way you captured the movement mid-step, the expression on his face... I really love it! Thanks for sharing!

Dear all,
I would really appreciate your constructive criticism and suggestions.
I am not very familiar with HDR, but I am trying to learn. What do you
think of the result?
-
Well, I didn't like the original take because it had noise, plus I had to improvise the backdrop which didn't turn out so well when photographed... I should post the original take so you can see it and tell me what you think. Thanks for the comments!

This was not taken with the Lubitel, but with my Olympus E420. The Lubitel doesn't work... When I said "I thought I should take a portrait with it", I meant posing with it. And yes, since it doesn't work for years, I used to play with it when I was a kid, pretending to take pictures (one of the factors that got me interested in photography). So the purists are safe here:) - by no way I mean to disrespect the Lubitel, I love it and my dad took some quite remarkable photos with it - while it still worked, that is.

It sure works for me! Plus, I really like the angle from which the photo was taken, and the expression on the granny's face as she answers the phone. Good work!

I thought I'd take a picture with my favorite childhood toy - my Dad's
old Lubitel:). The exposition's a bit wrong, tried to save what it
could be saved in raw processing, but I think it didn't turn out so
bad in the end. What do you think?

Thank you, Pierre, i veliki pozdrav za komsiju iz Makedonije!
As for the pose, my model didn't actually pose in this picture - I told her to rearrange her hair a bit, and as she reached back to do that, I took this shot because I suddenly realized that the way the light falls on her arms and the slight frown around her mouth are pretty interesting. And as I have thought - this was one of the most natural and interesting shots I took during the whole session, and worked pretty well in a vintage style.
Thanks again for your comment!

When editing this photo, I also gave much thought to the petals on the far left, and tried different cropping. However, I decided to keep them, because I thought that they would contribute to symmetry, but now I'm not so sure. I couldn't influence on the position where the orchids stood and I was very limited when it comes to the angle from which the photo was taken, so this is the best I could get; another angle would have worked better, but since this was in a flower shop and I couldn't move anything around - including myself - because of the very limited space. I'll post some different cropping/editing of this photo, so we'll see what works better. Thanks again!

Love the title! Ordinary, every day scene gets a new, interesting meaning. As someone who is very new to using DSLRs, and as someone who does not have any systematic knowledge about photography, I'm afraid I cannot give you any useful, constructive critique, but I like the photo very much and it inspires me to look at the street life around me in a new, fresh way.
