I wonder about Creig's advice , Though that wil be the ideal way , but that will be very difficult for any beginner to start earning ( Actually almost impossible - with the fierce competition and unwillingness of fellow photographer to loose these assignments ) .
Loretta - May be please have a look at this site and blog -This will give you some clue in corporate Portraits.
Ann - Thanks for suggestion .
By the way , I am not starting any studio as such , and I am just planning to hone my skills in that direction.
And Photography is just a plain hobby still.

Oh Thanks for so many responses ,
I found wordpress.com is good for a free photo blog with almost 3Gb space and very easy to use.
Shutterchance , pixyblog etc are good , but little restrictive for number of photos etc.
Further I am nurturing photography just as a hobby , and do not have any returns ( I mean monetary ) from it . So It is difficult to keep funding it.
Thanks for all the responses , I have started building my blog on wordpress and will post link here soon. Further I will try to move to my own domain little later.

Hi ,
I wish to create a Photo-blog. I have already tried Blogger. But it is kind of more focused on text-based
blogs than photoblog. I have seen wordpress too , it requires much efforts like installation, configuration and
web-space too.
Do we have any better option ? where we can customize page with previous/Next button( Forward/backward buttons
) , with a kind of one photo on front-page ? Something similar to this link . http://justpictures.es/
Any advice will be of great help.
Thank you .

Oh - Thanks I am already looking at Strobist. and work of other photo.net members.
I have one strobe ,but I would like to use available-light or outdoor lighting conditions .
But any learning threads , posts ,books or tutorials will be really useful.

All ,
As a regular visitor to the Photo.net , I really get inspired by the great work around . And as a learner , I
would like to get some inputs from the members.
I am not the full time student of photography ,but surely nurturing it .
I would like to get some good references/inputs for self-learning for Children/Kids photography.
Pointer to good Books or online tutorials will be of great help . ( I am not sure - how good online schools are
, I don't want to end up spending lot and getting nothing solid in return ) .
I have picked up this book [
] and It is good starter.
I am looking for similar books , which will give me "how-to" advice and will help me in making better images
eventually.
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated , I guess I can post my images on photo.net for critic and suggestions.

what's a >$1000 DSLR good for?

I wonder - if this is your hobby or profession ?
If it is your hobby - then I seriously doubt the benefits that these high end camera will give you. Even low end DSLR is ok for all practical purposes.
Sometimes it is really surprising even for professionals - when someone makes such big ticket purchases - specially when your employer or someone else is not footing the bill.
Off-course go for it - if you can afford - it is great for impressing other newbies in town.
