I very much like the soft tones of this image - nice lighting. I think that the picture could be improved by cropping the top 20% of so - In the upper right hand corner of the image there is a leaf that is somewhat reddish - I think if you cropped the image just below that leaf you would strengthen the composition and keep the viewers' attention more on the window and flower boxes that are certainly the main focal point. Hope this helps.

I agree - unfortunately couldn't include the little bit of extra wake in the original photo and still crop out the duck. I guess I need to learn photoshop so that I can clone out unwanted elements. Thanks for the comment - I appreciate you taking the time.

Thanks for taking time to comment - I very much appreciate your input.
Marco - I will take a look at your photo soon and provide comment.
Theodore - I agree with your comment on composition - really not the best. It all happened very fast and I just got off a "grab shot" here. I tried a cropping of the image - how does this look??
Again, thanks for your valued input

Very nice architectural detail shot. This type of photo does much to enhance a travel slide show and to give the viewer a better sense or "feel" of a place. Lighting is nice and subtle as well. Really good job!

Just a simple photo but I like it - am trying to work at noticing simple little scenes that in the past I may have totally overlooked. Thanks for taking time to comment.

A pair of comfortable chairs in front of one of Long Island's (New
York) summer estates - now a state park open to the public.

Excellent image - it certainly does remind me of the pistons in an automotive engine as your title implies. This is the type of shot that, while looking simple, is really very difficult to design and to photograph effectively - and you have done so very well.

Well done. I was a bit surprised to see the grafitti on the Kiosk - not something I would have associated with a place as beautiful as Venice - but I guess it is a world-wide blight (or art?? depending upon your point of view). A beautful scene nevertheless - thanks for sharing it with us.

This is the type of subject that is so well known and so often photographed that it is really difficult to come up with any type of unique image. The same can be said for such structures as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty or the Brooklyn Bridge here in New York. But we certainly should try anyway and there is nothing at all wrong with a well executed record shot. The angle here is a nice treatment for the tower and you have a technically well done image - sharp throughout and well exposed so that you retain adequate shadow detail without having the sky totally blown out (except slightly in the upper right hand corner). Overall I think you have done a good job on this effort. Thanks for sharing the photo - hope to get to Paris one day myself to take a stab at the Eifel tower and other scenes in your beautiful city.

Beautiful capture. Lighting is nice and soft and flattering and the rim lighting of her hair is terrific. I also like the fact that you have avoided over sharpening as well as too much post processing so that her skin tones and texture look natural - she does not have that unrealistically perfect, "plasticky" look we see so often. Really nice job.

Main Entry Door To Mansion At Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great

More from last summer's home garden. Critiques appreciated

Nice capture - exposure is dead on. It is difficult in these scenes to keep good detail in the snow while still keeping it looking white.

Taken in Port Jefferson, NY - these ferries (3) traverse the LI Sound
from Port Jeff on LI to Connecticut about once an hour. Comments and
constrcutive criticisms will be most welcome.
