  1. okay I have 1 400ws light with a reflective umbrella my question is why are my

pictures dark? I have to shoot with a shutter speed of 60 and a f stop of 1.8

to even get a decent exposure at full power. the light is no more than 3-4 feet

away and sometimes it seems as if half or part of the pic is properly exposed,

almost like my camera is out of sync I am using a wireless sync but ichanged

the batteries and it is still happening

    *confused*

  2. I am seriously confused about the readout of the meter....In t priority the

meter gives a small number next to the apeture setting. I understand that that

mean i must shut down the apeture by .x but lets say the reading is 4 why

would'nt it just say 4.x instead of 4.0 x Am I understanding correctly that to

shut down in tenths of a stop is to add .x to your f number. DOES ANY OF THIS

    MAKE SENSE >>>>>> PLEASE HELP!!!!

  3. "are they quartz-halogen modeling lights? If so don't touch them with your bare hands -- the oils, dirt and acids on your skin are really bad for the glass."

Well I'll be dipped in squirrel stew.....They just so happen to be Halogen quartz....now my healing is complete I'll blame it on the oils:P

  4. I don't deny that that is true in case history commercailly but what about artistically. meaning sold in an art gallery did andy Warhol have to pay royalties to campbells soup? however I don't have to agree with it. If I take a scenic pic of the San Fransisco bay bridge and sell it...do I have to pay royalties...what about a BMW...or a Cup of Tea.
  5. Photographing a piece of art is no more the artists than if I were to photograph a book. If I did so would I then have to site the author/book in the photo. What if I took a picture of a building . . . the architect then or the owners? In fashion, would we have to credit the clothing, Nudes the subjects parents? It sounds absurd but how else to illustrate absurdity? And then if I sell it should I be giving a percentage to either/or...a photograph is just that a photograph. . . whoever shot it . . . owns it.
