1.
I think this is the one I have.
When the battery indicator for the grip battery gets about half empty, the camera starts giving me an intermittent error until I remove the grip battery. It's kind of a pain in the ass, but since I know it happens, I can deal with it. The car charger attachment has saved my ass though.

 2.
I use Photoshelter and I've been very happy with them. It connects with my PayPal account. I upload full res images and send the gallery link out, clients order prints, pay w/ credit or debit card, money goes straight into my PayPal account, Photoshelter has the prints printed and shipped out directly to the client and Photoshelter charges my PayPal account for the printing and shipping charges. You can also sell JPEG's through the site.
A basic account is $9.99 a month + 10% of sales.
More expensive accounts there allow you to customize your gallery pages, so you can seamlessly integrate it into your existing website.
The only thing they don't offer that I wish they did would be coupon codes. I want to be able to generate one-time-use codes for clients that will cover things like pre-paid prints.

 3.
I just found a site yesterday that has an excellent selection of music, it looks like it can all be licensed for $3 a track.

http://www.jamendo.com

But yeah, music on slideshows seems to be a mistake. I think it's because people's musical tastes vary so much. I hate it when I go to a website and there's crappy music, and no doubt the music I think is excellent, someone else will think is crap. So better to just leave it out.

 4.
I have a first meeting to get the deposit, get contracts signed, questions for them, questions for me, and to get to know each other a bit. Maybe an engagement session. Then 2 weeks before the wedding we meet again to get their customized check-list, make sure that I'm aware of any changes that I need to know about. In between there are usually a few emails back and forth.

 5.
What Michael said.
But, since your question is about people enrolled in a program for an organization that you are photographing for, your organization could include a "model release" clause in the paperwork that they or their guardians fill out anyway. "I grant permission to the county board of MRDD to make and use images of me at MRDD events for promotional purposes."
In any case, there should be a lawyer that handles things for your organization that can answer this question definitively.

 6.
He said the flash was bounced.

You could have dragged the shutter a bit more to lighten up the background, if you're saying that the faces are too bright in relation to the darker background. But they're not overexposed at all.

 7.
I bought a site from them last month and remembered the part about not working with Yahoo.

I don't really know anything about hosting w/ Bludomain. I host with 1&1. I DID have one person tell me their support is awful, but since you have to pay $100 whether you get a year of hosting from them or not, it's worth a try IMHO. The only reason I didn't switch to them is because I have other domains with 1&1 and all my email and junk.

 8.
Midwest Camera Repair says they fixed my lens and did a CLA. Total is $113. It's on it's way back and I will test again. Asked eBay seller for a partial refund of the repair price before I sent it in. I'm asking him to refund the full repair amount now, since I went out on a limb to get it fixed.
