This captured my attention instantly! what a powerful shot! they are positioned just right that you might as well replace the tooth brushes with their actual owners! absolutely wonderful. good lighting and i like the shadow behind the darker tooth brush too.

    wonderful!

The colors and lights of this shot are fantastic! although, it may just be me, but i feel like the lights are slightly blurry. or they're not as sharp as they could be (some of the lights in the windows?) did you use a tripod or handheld? and it very well could be the compression when uploaded too.

    either way great shot!

    Thanks James!

I was actually thinking about trying a shot from directly underneath him, but i was worried about getting a bunch of snow and whatnot on the lens, plus the drop off wasn't that big, so i was worried. obviously my worry wasn't important seing as he got a lot of air.

next time i'm out i will for sure try that though!

    Thanks a lot!

Wonderful shot! The drapes in the corners do a great job of framing the shot, and the vertical lines of the window drapes compliment the vertical lines in the wedding dress. The round flowing part of the dress helps balance the bottom of the photograph too! excellent!

Composition is wonderful, along with the colors. the reflection also adds a very nice feel to the photograph. might i ask how you accomplished the reflection (what did you use as a background?)

Your work shows me that you dont need a $8000 camera with a $5000 lens to take spectacular photographs!

    Thank you!

wonderful shot! I too have this lens, but i dont use it as much as others. this makes me want to go shoot some more with it!

dof is fantastic, also not really related (but at the same time completely related) the color of the boarder compliments this photograph perfectly

    congrats!

  1. First off, great capture! i haven't tried any lightning photography yet, but this is really awesome. Second, i absolutely love the "angry" clouds, and the same goes for the water. combined with the colors, it gives a real dark, moody feeling. awesome shot!

Love this shot! Very abstract, but at the same time somewhat recognizable. I really like the horizontal/vertical lines. makes it very interesting!
  2. Thanks andrej! I totally forgot a tripod that day, and by the time this picture was taken it was getting a little darker. I'd go out and retry it with one, but its frozen now! :) and about the hdr, i would do that, but i haven't had very much luck in the past using photomatix, they always seem to come out looking funny. i've tried following tutorials online. but i will definitely give that a try next time and see how it turns out.

    thanks for the feedback!
