Any comment is appreciated about this photo I took some time ago but

only recently rediscovered and converted in black and white.

This shot is made of four photos stitched together.

I shot exposing for the sky because I was interested in the effect of

the light coming from behind the clouds. After the stitching then I

had to correct the foreground since it was a bit underexposed; I also

worked on colors and contrast to make the scene more dramatic.

It's one of my first tries in stitched panoramas, so any comment is

freezed the action trying to fill the frame as much as I could zooming

with my telephoto lens.

I manipulated this shot to look like the 70's italian hardboiled

movies* posters: hard black and white, similar to a hand drawing.

*they were much like "Reservoir Dogs" from Tarantino, and the cars

used both by police and criminals were usually Alfa Romeo

I tried to give a dreamy effect to this shot applying a circular blur

filter in post-processing, as if the car is coming from a dream

dimension into reality.

As the title says, I tried to depict the spirit of the Giro d'Italia:

a wheeler, the road and the onlookers.

I also converted the photo into B/W (a bit unusual for sport

photography) to add more drama.

Actually the car was parked.

The driver stopped few meters after the checkpoint and went to buy a bottle of wine as souvenir in a shop nearby.

The elmet is endorsed on the body of the car, in front of the co-pilot seat.

In this shoot I tried to portray the spirit of the 1000 Miglia through

the beauty of this astonishing Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR (which arrived

2nd in 1955 driven by Juan Manuel Fangio)
