it's hard to believe that there could be an over-saturation of homless romanian women drinking soda from the trash, but there you go.

good eye, and that subtle depth of field is really working here too.

nice tonal balance, and catching that edge-defining highlight. i need to get my magazine stuff more like this.

only thing is that brightness at the far right edge is playing with my eye.

2006, 2007? meh.

everything is great about it, except that darn toyota bright and sharp in the center. i don't know that the shot would have worked if the forground were sharper, it needs that immediacy and blur.

i find i kill a lot of shots that way because there isn't a lot to fix about it. i kind of get in the habit of hyper-focal dist focusing short of infinity, so things like that are discernable, but not prominent.

if only cars these days weren't so stupid looking!

i know a lot of skate photographers, a lot. and the half-pipes and fisheyes really loose charm fast. i really would like to see skate photogaphy take a bend towards street-style, or anything for that matter.

that aside, this has good balance and is moving for me technically. leaving the skater's face in shadow literally forces your attention to the gal on the steps. her expression puts you back on the guy.

good stuff, hope to see more like it.

after roughly a year break, am shooting again.
