Hi all,
I cant figure out what the situation is with sync cables for my hass 503 (or more importantly cf lenses)
ive seen the sync on the older lenses uses a very small attachment but does anyone know if the CF zeiss
lenses use a regular pc sync cord? is the pc sync cord a standard?
i remember seeing a website offering sync cables for cf hasselblad last year but now i cant find it, and i see canon
and nikon have different syncs for dslrs
confusion!!!

i think his stuff is amazing! the moodiness and all those tones, the one of that boy under the bridge?
ok so his production is a bit over the top, but you have to respect the scale of it all....

A friend of mine and I were discussing long exposures on 120 film and he had
heard that metering with a digital camera (as I am doing currently, waiting
for my Sekonic to arrive from HK) or even metering more accurately with a
light meter on 120 film will underexpose your film. ie 120 films on a long
exposure require much larger shutter speeds than you would use for the
equivalent 35mm (what i dont understand if this is true is that 35mm film is
the exact same stuff as its roll equivalent?).
Unfortunately i havent shot a 35mm and 120 in the same light conditions with
the same type of film to compare, but i do have an example...
Shooting very low light (a factory lit up by car headlights from a nearby
bridge), f3.5 30 seconds on my canon 30D with ISO 100. i set my hasselblad on
f2.8 shooting astia 100F on exposures of 1, 2, and 3 minutes (by this time i
already noticed that if i exposed the same settings as my digital then the
shots would come out horribly underexposed). 2 minutes came out as the most
well balanced exposure, so...
f3.5 30" ISO 100
comes out the same as
f2.8 2 minutes ISO 100 on 120 film
i have also noticed the same on velvia 100F which is my film of choice. i have
only been shooting 120 for under a year so please feel free to drown me in
superior knowledge!

I have recently purchased a second hand 503CW, A12 mag, and 80mm Zeiss etc etc
etc and was looking for manuals (and saw on that others have been searching
for them as well). I learned how to operate my beautiful new baby from a 500CM
manual I found on the net as well and resigned myself to either ordering a
manula from KEH or just figuring it out (one thing I've learnt that while they
are masterful beautiful machines, their beauty does lie in their simplicity).
Cruising on the hasselblad website I was looking for a way to obtain a copy of
the Flexcolor program as I have been offered work (and the chance to play with
a CWD back) if I can use the software.
This is when I realised the website allows you to register as a current
Hasselblad owner, and I dont know if this will work if someone has already
registered your kit in the past (or even if you only have to register, say, a
magazine to be given access), so I registered my body and not only received
access to the software but to Blad's online manual archive.
The archive is pretty extensive, I read a manual for 500EL/M underwater
housings! Now whether or not you're looking for a manual, you could just be
obsessed like me and find it incredibly interesting to spend hours and hours
reading product manuals for old Hasselblads...
Hope someone can find this useful:
