Emma is my partners youngest daughter and was a little upset this
evening, I was photographing her sister and my son and she asked me
if she went and brushed her hair would I take a picture of her too, it
cheered her up even though there is some sadness on her face in this
shot, but then again, I think it helps the mood of the photograph,
Please comment, good or bad, I appreciate it!

Chris is lead singer with the Wolfmen, he was bass guitarist for Adam
Ant from around 1983 to 1986 and I was really pleased to be asked to
photograph the bands 2nd ever gig.
-
I took this shortly before shooting a gig by The Wolfmen in London,
Daniel is the drummer from the band that also contains both Marco
Pirroni (Adam and the Ants/Siouxie & The Banshees) and Chris
Constantinou (Adam Ant/Lou Reid)
I think he has a really interesting face, he's very photogenic and a really
nice guy :o)
Comments would be nice.... :o)

This is beautiful, it reminds me of my time when I used to travel north for my work and occasionally I would see this from the distance.
Perfectly captured, it couldnt be improved on and I wish I had taken it :o) 6/6

I was shooting this band in the recording studio, the producer sent
the guys upstairs to practice on a particular harmony while he worked
on something and I caught this shot....comments very welcome :o)

Hi,
Guitars are beautiful are they not? This picture, in my eyes, is a bit flat. I had a fiddle with your shot in photoshop and came up with this version in about 2 minutes. It might not be everyones cup of tea, but I quite like it.
All I did was mess around with the "Image/ajustments/levels" settings, then I went to "Filter/Render/Lighting effects" and chose a spotlight effect.
I then cropped it slightly.
I'm no expert on Photoshop but its amazing what you can do to turn something you are "ok" with, into something that you really like.
All the best, Rob

I took a series of shots of a "JAM" coverband, some colour, some B+W.
This was one that I was happy with.
I'd be interested in any comments, thanks.

This is a gorgeous photo!
The only thing that detracts from it in my humble opinion is the other bird in the background. Try taking it out in photoshop and see what you think?
Congratulations on such a good shot though, my only other question was how on earth did you get up there lol!!

That is a most beautiful photograph! It took me right back to my visit to Oklahoma city in 2005 and brought back many memories.
The National Memorial made me feel very humble, in the middle of a busy bustling city there is a moment of calmness, and you captured it perfectly.
Regards, Rob, 4541 miles from OKC!

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it ;o)
I didnt crop this particular image because I have a very similar shot where I was a bit closer to the guitarist and he pretty much filled the frame. However I do see your point, thanks for taking the time to reply with the crop :o)

Its always a pleasure to see this "Jam" tribute band, (google "The
Jam" or "Paul Weller" folks) but this time I took a whole heap of
shots for their website too. The gig was only in a pub venue but with
a bit of playing about I removed most of the background in this shot
so you would never know. It could be anywhere.
A comment or two, good or bad would be most welcome :o) Thanks!

My first time playing with RAW, and one of my first attempts at
concert photography. (Band is the Stereophonics, the subject is
Richard Jones the bassist.
The original pic wasnt that great so I thought I would take in the
opposite direction than my original idea of brightening it up, and
make it almost a silhouette.
I put it onto a Stereophonics "moblog" site, where the band ask fans
to upload photo's they have taken at their concerts. Currently its
been voted number 1 out of around 250 pics there. So I'm pretty happy
about that.
I do welcome anybodys thoughts, good or bad.
Thanks

Kelly Jones, lead singer of my favourite band The Stereophonics,
playing to 7500 people on 18th November 2007, Cardiff, Wales.
My 2nd attempt at a bit of live gig photography, and my first with my
new Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens on my D80.
Any comments greatfully received.

Really original photo! Personally I would do away with the title in the bottom left hand corner but thats about it.
I was interested in my girlfriends opinion...so I called her in to have a look.....and she loves it!
Curiously enough...she's just gone out....I think she might be after some of those sticky back jewlel things!
Congrats on a great photo!

I am very new to photoshop and still only learning my way around. I saw this effect used a lot by photography sellers in London a few weeks ago, black and white images of the houses of parliament with a bright red bus driving past. I think its a really effective way of showing your photo's so I will have to have a go myself when I can get all the layer info stuck into my head lol!
Good luck and happy shooting :o)

Hi Kelly,
I like this picture, though I do feel it needs some cropping. Try blocking off all the background say from the end of the fallen trunk of the tree. In my opinion this makes the image much bolder and interesting, it helps bring more attention to the leaf too.
Have a look and see what you think.

If you get to see this, perhaps you can let me know just how you go about having a single coloured leaf in a black and white shot. I have seen it done before but dont know how its done.
All the best,
Rob

What a fantastic picture! I'm new to motocross photography and you have just given me a level to aspire to. Thanks!

This is the first picture I have seen as I have only just joined the site, but was a beautiful and inspiring photograph it is. I would be proud to take such a beautiful image.
Oh, and following on from other peoples comments, I too can make out the shape of a body in the water, very strange!
