Hi Suzanne, I like the Flora Professional Albums, spcifically the Elite series. They have several styles and sizes, and have dozens of mat choices with gold or silver edges. Go to their website at www.floraalbums.com to get a list of deistibutors. Personally, I go through Taprell Loomis (www.tap-usa.com). Hope this helps!

I'm not sure I know the difference between commercial and editorial. Sorry. The shoots I know about are bridal shoots for various magazines, such as Brides, Inc., etc.
And, no, I don't mind the sexist language. I make a dandy cup of coffee too! :-)

Thanks for the info. I have found out a little more info too. I'm told the photog assistants/interns are usually employees of the studios, unlike some photogs who are contracted. Also,PA's must have background check and pass physical for Workman's Comp standards. This is where I would have a problem, because one of the requirements is to weigh a minimum of 125 and I only weigh 108.
I'm not sure how to get around this issue. The photog can get some restrictions waived, but I don't think it can happen when there is such a big gap (125 lb vs. 108). I am a good assistant at weddings and have been doing it for about 8 months, but I wanted to also assist at commercial bridal shoots.

I'm in the Dallas area.

Can someone tell me what is required to become a "licensed or card-carrying"
photography assistant? I live in Texas, if that makes a difference. I have
assisted two photographers in my area doing informal photo shoots (engagement,
wedding, modelling, etc.), but I'm very interested in getting a photog
assistant card so that I can accompany them to commercial photo shoots.
Please help.

Somehow my picture was deleted, but the description wasn't, so I am posting it again.
I will call the picture "Anticipation". I shot it on Jan. 03 using a Canon XSi, with an EF28-135mm lens, f5.6, ISO 1600. I have been a wedding photographer's assistant for over 1 1/2 years and a second shooter for 6 months. Photography (and weddings) are so much fun!
