Hannu.... I am not sure what you mean by HDR... is that high dynamic range? I will try to upload the original to my portfolio tonight to look at them together....

Thanks for the comments, I've been taking pictures for years, but I feel I have a lot to learn!

  1. Thanks. I agree, I should have taken the photo earlier for a more defined mountain. I am still experimenting with timing. I kind of liked this photo, not for definition of shape, but the lack of it, and the overpowering of the sun over the earth.

    Thanks for commenting.

  2.

    Thanks for the comments Don!

I've been taking pictures for a long time, but I'm trying to learn to take them right. I don't have any filters yet, I plan to add some as I go. I was driving through with the family, so I didn't have a choice on time of day for this shot. I took the houses in the shot to show the "beach architecture" in the area.... maybe I shouldn't have catagorized it as landscape.... I'm still new to posting here, but I will check out your portfolio. I live in woodland wa, so I am sure I'll be back to this area of the coast, and I will look into Seal Rock too.

    Again, thank you.

  3. I happen to have a lot of flora that attracts the skittish birds to my yard. I just spend a lot of time around the flowers so that the birds get used to me there, and they come a lot closer, sometimes sitting very near to me. I had one land in a raspberry bush about 6 inches in front of me and sit there for about 2 minutes. I just move very slowly to help keep from spooking them.

  4. What makes this photo interesting, is that I was at my son's football

game, taking action shots of the team, when at halftime, I couldn't

pass up this shot of the sunset. I am looking for comments on

composition and general ways to improve my photos.

    Thank you.
