I am not an expert or anything but I will share my thoughts(from a non technical point of view) : First, you got a great expression! Love the relaxed look and connection to the camera. He is very photogenic I think, looks like a model! Congratulations on his up-coming graduation! A few things that I might have done differntly are the composition - I think there is too much space above his head and his body seems cut off at the bottom. I would have liked to see more of that great slight leaning forward he seems to be doing. The other thing I notice is the colors. It is very monochromatic so nothing pops and your son blends into the background. This might also be a function of the somewhat flat light though. Overall the image needs some post processing polish with some adjustmenets to exposure and contrast.

This looks like it could be hundreds of years old. I really like how muddy it is at the bottom but flows out of that into the white sky. Its a very emotional image to me.
  1. Only you (and your lensbaby!) could make this scene interesting! I would not have applied the word anticipation to this image, but now that you said it, it is excatly what this image evokes. What there is to anticipate is left up to interpretation I suppose, lol. The desk seems to be a bit "in the way" as a strange furniture placement within the room, especially with the chair against the wall facing the viewer. I am not sure if the picture would work without it though,so am not sure how I feel about it. Great image!
